2016 TE Landon Rice has committed to #Auburn.

He's 6'6 245 as a HS sophomore Can we go ahead and suit him up for the Iron Bowl? We only have 2 TE's right now

More on Bessent from AUC LINK
-AU never stopped recruiting
-picked up the heat recently and have called Coach Craig in to be the DC (Designated Committer)
-Thinking hard about visiting foe the IB. Will know next week if it would be an UOV or OV.

Lost in the shuffle is that OT target Prestwood told Allie Davidson from rivals that he is canceling visits to UK and another undecided school and that his close confidants and father are encouraging/on board with Auburn. Supposedly his dad pushed AU back when he was in HS

This 2016 guy, are we planning on playing him at DE or TE or possibly somewhere else? Or do we even know yet?

Just throwing this out there but Rice is going to be very highly rated once 247 etc. put out accurate #'s on 2016 kids. Not sure if he would be a 5* but most def will be a solid 4*. If he keeps growing he will get the 5th IMO. That and $1 will get you a cup of coffee.

Question for GenesChin or anyone that sits near recruits; Does Goodwin, the 5* Calloway HS kid seem to be close to Ricky and Tez Parks? I ask because I wonder how much influence they might have?

2015 5* ATH Terry Godwin quotes per AUC LINK
quote:

I mean, the ball was in the air ... I looked and saw two defensive backs and was like, 'Oh my, it's gonna be picked,' " Godwin recalled. "When they tipped the ball in the air and he caught it, I was like, 'Did that really just happen?' I was in shock, and I was cheering. That game was special.

Coach Smith was telling me I would have had a big impact on the game had I been playing. It could have been over a lot quicker. Coach Malzahn told me that could have been me [catching the Hail Mary]. I was just smiling, thinking, 'Did he really just say that?

I think I could make a big impact with the [Auburn] defense,
Also AU is telling him he can play WR and CB. He wants to play both. No leaders. AU and UGA will make the first cut on his list.

Tim Watts, Charles Power and Trevor Hewett all just Crystal Ball'd Stephen Roberts to Auburn. All 3 are bammer insiders for 247 so i'm guessing they found out something concrete.

Getting him would go a LONG way in easing my biggest concern in this class (DB) for us. He can play corner or safety. Still want one more corner like Wingo or try to flip someone like Bassent.

Speaking of Wingo he scheduled his OV to Auburn to be January 17-19 Per Rivals. He and his family have a long standing relationship with Coach Horton who was the lead in getting his brother, Ronnie Wingo, to Arky

At least one more IMO. I imagine Bassent falls into the "take no matter what the #'s are" category. I really, really want Godwin in 2015 as well!!

EDIT: Okay now make that TWO people that have heard Roberts may come out today. Both are very reliable!!
