We call this Big Cat Weekend.

I know but that is essentially a glorified junior day. I am talking about one right before signing day. A lot can happen between BCW and NSD. Also, got a run down of the schedule of BCW and events, Curtis Looper is a fricking genius. It is the coolest fricking thing ever

Andrew Marshall. I'd be just as happy with him, if not more so, than Casher.

Not me. I'll take a higher talent ceiling all day. I wouldn't mind pulling in Andrew Marshall, Sims and Casher simply because Marshall could pull a Barrett Jones and be great at crosstraining at positions. Would eliminate the shitty depth situations we have had the past few years by stockpiling one OL position and being barren at others

There's a chance he'd rather go to Ole Miss? Really? Come on.

Ole Miss can recruit. They are sketchballs on the trail too from what my roommates younger brother said (He is being recruited by them as a rising JR but MS St fan so inherent bias)

quote:

Amen. Would just as soon get Myron and be done. This includes TRudolph, and I really like TRudolph. But I think MB would be an asset to the program in ways TR wouldn't.

People underestimate the influence that these former players have. Everyone on their son's team knows them and that they used to play ball. Having them speak highly of AU is a huge influence on their son as well as teammates of their sons

Finally, a lot of these guys are coaches and leadership roles at high schools. You have have Karibi Dede coaching a 5* player, you have guys like Wayne Dickens head of Felloship of Christian Athletes for Lee County High schools, says a lot if they aren't excited aobut the school

Just look at the dividends UTk is seeing from recruiting legacies early this year.

I don't see why we don't do what Ole Miss did and get all our big targets who have not already OV'd to visit on the same day and sell them on building together. Ole Miss literally pulled a "go big or go home" type weekend and it worked out. We have a better program, should have momentum, good recruiters and better facilities so I can imagine we could do even better than they did
We were trying to the last 3 weekend before NSD silly. It's much harder to do when you have 4 to 6 to set it up with kids who are already very deep in their recruitment.

Do you know our chances of taking both Sims and Casher? I would be a happy panda if we got both
I would say fairly high right now.

From my very limited knowledge of his situation beyond reading beat writers, it would seem like he is a guy who recruiting services are writing off as a grade risk and not ranking him higher. Does this seem to be true? He seems to have some solid measurables
Not sure. Niebluhr finally copped up today that services will have lower evals for players if they know for a fact a player has serious grade or other issues.

Goes both ways on that one. TR can help SW work on talent rich So. Fla for Auburn in future classes.

I'd much rather Casher. Interest from AU, Bama, FSU > Wake Forest and Duke

Yeah, point. But this relationship business is at play in this very case: Stanton Truitt got Myron to come over for the camp. Now MB's got some favor with some of the coaches.

I don't have the time to write it all down and not all of it is fresh on my minds but essentially it starts off with them being introduced to the entire audience and given some ridiculous but funny nickname. Something along the lines of Barack "The Volcano" Obama that has no relevance (from my understanding) They are then split off into different teams and there are contests. Each team has a coach leading them and they do ridiculous stuff. Grimes had his team do the purple cobras entrance dance to all his events from what I heard. The contests are everything from cake eating contests where kids literally just throw their faces into the cake to having something that resembles a fannie pack with balls in it and you have to basically twerk to get the balls throw a hole in the bottom. Really funny and awkward games. The coaches then have mock press interviews where they make jokes the entire time. They had one where they had a waterballoon station where they tried to get it in a target some 60 yards away but it only shot 30 yards. Then the coaches ambushed them with water balloons when they were really frustrated which explains everyone talking about water balloons post BCW

This isn't chronological just things that they do. That is all I remember off the top of my head I heard it months ago. It is extremely well planned and thought out and I am pretty sure they have kids that commit or plan on committing in each group to work on the other guys

Got to have more than this to want one kid over the other. e.g. AM couldn't pull in an offer even after the camp where he really showed out. I mean, god, two 2*s pulled offers after a camp! That would be a legit reason to favor Casher over Marshall. But because JC has "interest" from blah blah blah is not. IMO.

Sort of how I imagined. Good goofy fun. I'm sure they all really like it as much as they say afterwards.

Wouldn't be the first time. Had a guy in 99 and 2000 from Compton. I remember getting real excited about him, but he quit the team(SOUND FAMILIAR?) his sophomore year and never heard from him again.

First, Long Beach to Auburn? How did that happen?

Also, don't go pushing stereotypes around here. People are going to assume all black people have a connection to gang information when you say shite like this

Well....I'm black, and I know for a fact he was a Crip, because my cousins in LBC...are Crips, too. It's a way of life out there. To them, its no different than cheering for AU or UA. All gang members arent bad people, just born into bad situations. Sometimes its all they know.

I didn't read through what I put and there was a serious tone in there. I have a bunch of friends that grew up that way and were lucky to get out of it the best they could. It is crazy talking to people who had their best friends gunned down before even really being an adult

But seriously, how did you end up in Auburn from California?

I knew he was black which was the point I was making that because he is black he knows people in a gang is a stereotype. Literally heard someone ask a black person if he knew people that were crips or bloods the other day at a bar
