Has anyone given Watson the "Clemson doesn't have a Chik-fil-A on campus but we have 2" pitch yet?

Also being reported on the Auburn site that his Dad now has entered into the picture, and that his dad is all for the Auburn/SEC thing, and this is bad news because Auburn loves to find estranged family members and lure them with riches (first anyone has heard of a Father, sounds like Nkemdiche all over again.)

Found this gem on tigernet.com seems like Clemson fans are turning on each other with some taking a chiken little approach and others choosing to have faith in Dabo

I'll laugh and enjoy their misery today but it's recruting in May and basically everybody is lying at this point. Only time a committment will matter is on Signing Day

And speaking of lying . . . Regarding Roc, for all the talk of him being slow played for Bama isnt he in turn doing the same to Auburn? Seems like his committment to Auburn would only stand firm as long as Bama never offered. Arent you guys a little tired of playing that game and would prefer the staff pursue a similarly rated RB with genuine interst in Auburn?

There is this guy named Carnell Williams, you may have heard of him, was a pretty big Bama fan who wound up at Auburn and turned out okay.

There's also T.J Yeldon, Reuben Foster, Dee Liner, Brent Calloway, Cyrus Kouandjio, ect, ect, ect

It's one thing when a kid is genuinely unable to choose between schools and wants to explore options. It's another thing when a kid is simply waiting on a better offer to come along. I havent followed recruiting closely this cycle but if Roc falls in the latter category, why are we as fans placing so much hope in him when recent history has shown it's futile?

I get shite whenever I mention something along this line to Auburn fans but it's just my personal opinion. For all the lust that people put in Saban players they're system guys that typically dont fare well outside of the "process". So I dont look at it as the end of the world if we move on from a player that's waiting for an Alabama offer in pursuit of an equally rated player that fits our system and actually wants to play at Auburn

Even though Bama is not pursuing Roc hard he does have a committable offer.

Where are you getting that? From everything I've read he doesn't.

What RB would you suggest we recruit? I can't think of one as good as Roc that is any more interested than he is. We might as well go after him right now because there isn't a similar RB out there waiting to commit. Obviously we will be working on a backup plan but right now he's the best option.

There's really just no way to tell if he does or not

I know but right now it doesn't seem like he does with Fourtenette(sp?) and that other RB Bama is going after most likely being above Roc on their board.

Saban takes what he wants blah, blah, blah

I'm not saying Auburn should completely turn their back on Thomas but what's wrong with playing hard to get sometimes? Yeah maybe we've gained a few pounds but a few weeks in Crossfit and all the boys will be knocking our door down and guys like Thomas will wish they would have took what we were giving away for free

*and with that rambling analogy, I'm going to bed

Really if coaches were to think the way undecided suggests they should, we wouldn't have gotten Lawson, Adams, etc., etc. I think Roc has showed plenty of genuine interest towards Auburn.

Pretty much there's been at least one recruit each year that everyone knew was playing both sides and yet here we are in a new year playing the same game again. I'm just wondering when does it get old?

Because playing hard to get doesnt work in recruiting. Unless a guy was in love with your school since he was a little kid, he's not coming until you show him why he should come.

Yeldon is the only one that played us. Foster and Liner were coming until Troop left. CK was a Shocker that he committed to us in the first place and Calloway didn't come because of Peaches.

Did Lawson act completely committed the entire process? Should we have dropped him?
