I think your right about that though, see my earlier post. I do think getting out was his original intent, then Gus and the team had to go out and win an SEC championship, woulda been much easier to leave behind a dysfunctional 3-9 program.

Tre Williams said the weekend went well. He said he didn't come out to recruit Rashaan but to just be his friend. He said this is his decision and didn't want to oversell Auburn, but let it happen naturally.
Said they all had a blast during the visit.
Rashaan is doing the campus tour with his family looking at dorms and stuff.
Deshaun said Evans was impressed they came to Auburn for his visit.

Great article thanks for sharing. That article demonstrates the circus that high school recruiting has become and the effect it has on kids. Evans seems to not enjoy any of it. It really forces kids to display a level of maturity that I didn't have at their age.

Agreed and looks as if it has gotten worse with all the social media outlets available. Like some have said before I don't think I would even have a Facebook or twitter account.

FWIW, I think his dad has no real vendetta towards Auburn.
Didn't Auburn let him come back to school and finish his degree on their dime?
If so, having a vendetta against Auburn would be a real dick move. (Not saying he has said vendetta.)

I also find it funny the parallel, yet opposite direction logic:
Kid from Tuscaloosa or environs: "HE'S A BAMA LOCK!"
Kid from Auburn: "HE JUST WANTS TO GET THE HELL OUTTA AUBURN WHO CAN BLAME HIM?"

Devaroe Lawrence never wavered in his AU commitment says AU is home. Plans on being roommates with Lambert and talks with him all the time.
Loves Garner and feels he will coach him up and raise his level of play.

I have never understood this either. Tloosa is a little larger but a stinkhole. I guess Auburn is just to small for some.

Tre
quote:
I saw how he reacted, (When Tre, Deshain, and Rashaan lined up in Gus' offices in how they would in the 4-2-5) he liked what coach said," Williams told AuburnSports.com. "We can be the best linebackers to come through Auburn. We can be dominate and (Rashaan) knows that.
The fact that he could see that we have other players who are committed and we love the game as much as he does, he wants to be a part of that. He realized he could play with us and really trust us.
I told him when I got here, I wasn't going to recruit him. We were just going to have fun and every minute we had fun," Williams said. "We were trying to build that brotherly love and showing him we want him here, not as much about football, but as a person and a brother. We were hanging out having fun and we saw that chemistry, he had a smile on his face.
Everything we did was on the college standpoint. We hung out with the players and we put the spotlight on the college experience and that it's different from high school,
I feel very confident about it (Rashaan commiting to Auburn on NSD)," Williams said. "If we get Rashaan, we're going to do the thing next year.
Deshaun
quote:
I feel like the visit went well. We didn't want to preach, 'come to Auburn, come to Auburn.' We wanted to have fun. A big thing with him is staying home or not, and we let him know it's a different lifestyle. We made a good push.
"I talked to his mom, she asked lots of questions about the program. She asked me why we committed," Davis said. "Auburn speaks for itself, we put her on the Auburn side. I told her to look around, Auburn's an amazing place. All the smiling faces and the coaches' relationship with the players, they understand we're just kids and how to have fun and get down to business at the same time.

Dominick Sanders says Auburn is looking at him as an ATH and most likely DB. Says he liked the visit, but there is no offer yet. If AU does offer we will be a big factor for him. He already has an offer from UCF and will be visiting UGA soon.

This. god, this. This kind of overthinking dumbassery plays a large part in why I take long, extended breaks from the stupidity of college football forums.

Treon Harris says his Auburn visit exceeded hi expectations and that the coaches laid out a plan for him should he come to Auburn. Says it included QB talk. Says he is still committed to FSU and visits Miami next week.
He has a strong bond with Coach Craig and has a tough choice to make.
Shaq Davidson was not doing interviews today.

A lot of the pressure on Rashaan comes from his lack of a decision this late in the game. Once you've formed a bond with every coaching staff and recruiting class it becomes much harder. Guys like Tre Williams, Nick Ruffin, etc. who were highly recruited as well relieved that pressure a long time ago by committing and staying firm in their decision. That takes the question out of the air and makes everything calmer.
Hope he chooses Auburn but I also realize that nobody knows what is going to happen except for Rashaan. To believe anything for or against Auburn before the LOI is sent in is misguiding.

Rocker hitting recruiting trail hard and going after some of our commits as expected. Already made calls to Russell and Stuckey. Garner in Carrollton GA today...is he visiting Russell?
