Looks like LSU is trying to make a move for Lawson.

Don't be surprised when you hear Carl Lawson being mentioned more down the stretch. LSU plans to drop in this week for the talented DE

Of the two Penn State commits, I really want the kid from Hazel Green... he's got the frame, his film is impressive, 4.0 GPA, plays varsity basketball, HG is 6A competition.... there's a whole lot to like.

JMO I think we get him if we lose Dee or do not get Golson and may get him anyway if the coaches try to get a full class of 28.

It may be 6A but I'm from the area and it isn't 6A competition. None of the football teams around there are any good besides maybe Bob Jones.

Even if we don't lose Dee, it's looking like a struggle to get to 28.

ETA: Hazel Green is usually so bad they are everyone in north Alabama 6A's homecoming. This year was the first year where scheduling HG for homecoming wasn't a good idea.

I can't see us signing 25 with the low number of commits and the number of quality players on our radar.
I don't care to see us sign players for the purpose of numbers.

There are some decent teams in North AL, but you're right... as a whole, Birmingham and South is a good bit better... Muscle Shoals, Huntsville, Bob Jones, Russellville all play pretty good ball (I realize not all are 6A).

As I said yesterday the expected wants of the coaches are 1 more RB (2 if JW flips). 1 H Back, 1 OL, 2 WR, 2LB, 1 DT if Dee flips, 1 to 2 Cbs, and 2 safeties. We have 15 now and meeting the expected wants gets 25 or 26.

God it's so weird hearing that about Bob Jones. When I went there we sucked at football but were badass in baseball, soccer and basketball.

That's what big boosters and the "must win" culture and the biggest school in the state will get you. Success in all programs. Now that they split with James Clemens I expect to see basketball and baseball success decline. Football will probably continue. The BJ basketball team this year is terrible.

Hmm.. that's interesting. I assume he wouldn't want to change positions either right?

We really need a QB to go along with JJ... only two on the roster right now, neither of which could be long-term solutions.

I like ESPN & Rival's "Auburn Bump" better.
