Other than Blake, we had 1 receiver with a catch (Bray) for 8 yards.
Our run game played very well, Prosch looked great, other than the fumble it was a good running attack. Still want to see Kiehl run more.

We had great QB pressure you kidding?
not a whole lot... we had some pressure, but it didn't amut to much...
I really don't know why people are hating on me for tonight's performance.. the team just didn't seem like they wanted it... i'm not a "bammer is disguise." I graduated from auburn, I just expected more... sorry. I'm not saying I knew we would win, I just didn't see a whole lot after the first half, like last year....

That type of "me" thinking after a team loss is the last thing we need.

Wide Receivers need to step up. We can't just rely on Lutzie and Blake. I mean, Trevon Reed in the end zone, Quan Bray showing nothing, and Sammie Coates being a non factor just has me floored. Dear Lord
I think more of the blame goes on Frazier (except the Trovon nonTD). I can only think of one or two drops. Frazier was throwing 2 feet over our receivers' heads.

His stats are comparable to Boyd
There is no way you are going to compare Frazier to Boyd this game and get a pass Rocky.
Boyd was 24/34 for 71% completion rate with 1 TD and 1 INT
More importantly, Boyd had 58 yards on 19 carries and while that doesn't seem impressive, most of the carries are from him escaping the pass rush and creating something as opposed to a sack. He was confident in the pocket and didn't panic and make mistakes when he felt pressure.
Frazier on the other hand was 11/27 for a 41% completion rate for 198 yards. Over 25% were on 1 play as well. Not only did he not pass the ball well, he more importantly did not take advantage of his athleticism and scramble well. He looked lost out there making his reads and instead of trying to tuck and run he froze.
There is a huge difference in the quality and statistics play of Boyd and Frazier

Yes, Reed not being aware of where he was in the end zone is inexcusable.
Well gents that's all for me. Have a great night and some of you call hotlines if needed. Hate losing, but none of us really knew what we were going to look like. Sometimes our hopes get dashed by reality, but it is only game 1. WDE

I am not saying that Frazier doesn't need to step up. While I am being critical, I give him a pass and am not calling for his head but rather just for him to work this week on his faults. No one has ever asked a Malzahn QB to make reads before so it should have been expected
The wide receiving corp though needs to do better at getting open. They got next to no separation and when Frazier was done misreading the defense, they need to realize that. A big thing Boyd had for him was Andre Hopkins would come back to the QB when he realized Boyd was being flushed out of the pocket but he wasn't the only one. The only WR who would come back to the QB when the play broke down was Blake, sometimes.

We also got ripped by the refs overturning the Clemson fumble.

I honestly cant see us beating LSU, Bama, or Arkansas this year unless our LBers improve dramatically.

Oh stop...I wasn't completely comparing them. Boyd should have that type of game as a Seasoned JR. I was only pointing out he did ok as a first start against a good opponent. Boyd's experience was huge, just as Fraziers inexperience was big in a negative way. Time to go, see ya.

You forgot Georgia.
Let's not forget that Mississippi State and A&M aren't going to be pushovers either. The way our DBs got lit up by Andre Hawkins I am scared for A&M and an Air Raid offense tbh
All things aside, the play of Avery Young was awesome. I mean outside of ESPN commentators talking about the youth of our line, I don't remember even thinking about him. Greg Robinson seems to need some work but for a first game I was impressed too. When Christian Westerman figures things out and Reese Dismukes stops being a criminal, our OLine will be dirty

if our D plays like they did tonight.. we might not beam MSU or a&m
and by thst I mean they way they played in critical moments
offense wasn't great either

Who played in front of him? Bell? Bell had a pretty solid night from what I remember. He had some heavy hits for sure.
Lost his starting spot to Jermaine Whitehead.

Yes he does play safety. We are talking about McNeal being mad and he plays safety.

I know. I was referring to McNeal, not T-Bell. Should've been more clear about that.
