Long time ago the rumor was posted. I remember E corrected me because I read 13-24 as nine.

7 point jump is only borderline irregular. If that's the case I'm pissed.

Your expected average on ACT by guessing is ~12. For Purifoy to score a 13 would mean he probably reads at a Junior Rosegreen level

I would imagine that he would have to go to juco in the spring, a la Jovon Robinson.

Sits out this season and is eligible next year.

If his retake fails and they reject his initial score, it is conceivable that NCAA retroactively rejects his eligibility to be on BBall scholarship and we get screwed.

Considering how "safe" we played it though, I imagine MCT is right that he just sits out a year. NCAA does weird stuff

That's exactly what I said earlier. The minimum on the ACT is an eleven lol.

And the rumor was a 12-23 jump. Can be found by going to page 51 and 52 on this thread.

If Purifoy really started getting real instruction at Hargrave and got some tutoring for the ACT, I totally believe a 23 is possible.

He probably cheated though. With a scholarship on the line, I would.

Well you figure out which training can give 11 point jumps on the ACT (given Purifoy being ineligible right now we realize that is extremely rare) and then I'll hire your otherwise useless arse to tutor my two daughters. Auburn family right?

It appears to shut down UF, collapse everyone on their big and make them shoot threes.

For people who got normal level scores 11 point jump is absurd and nearly impossible. For someone who essentially guessed it is possible

If someone knows 50% of the questions then guess on the remaining, that would get you to 22. If someone took the time to study, it isn't unreasonable that they can get to knowing 50%

One of the reporters pointed out that retaking it is sort of an admission of guilt. If he really took it and they can't prove otherwise, why is it on him to retake it?

The ACT people can determine a score is outside of more than a certain deviation range, they can compel a student to retake the test and will not authorize the other score. We had it happen once. A kid who never made higher than a D in his life made a 34 in science and 30 overall.

ACT told him he would have to retake. He did not, so the scores were not valid.

For the record, he cheated. The test was given at our High School on a Saturday and lots of kids from out of the area come in and test there. He told me (way after all this) he ended sitting by an asian kid and felt he had hit the lottery.

So you are close enough to Danjel Purifoy for him to admit to cheating to you and you didn't care to chime in before about this?

He's not talking about Purifoy. He's talking about a random kid

I feel like you guys just started reading his post at "For the record"

I just thought his story ended. Seemed like the conclusion was ACT didn't recognize score.

Also, if ACT makes this decision, I feel like waiting >6months is a lot to ask for a retake
