His performance against Texas was one of the best displays of an arm I've ever seen. I think he is a great QB, just got to stay healthy. Still not a great fit for falcons

I beleive Cousins has a no trade clause. Penix will sit for 2 years minimum. Could be 3.

Not sure what we are doing. Only way this turns out well, is if Cousins isn't healthy.

Kirk has a front loaded deal with 90% of the money in first 2 years. So your 3 years of sitting is misleading. If you don’t think something like this can work, just look at the greenbay packers. Plus with Kirk starting, falcons likely won’t have a top pick next year.

Penix is a good qb but exactly that...24 already with multiiple acls. I think with the depth at wr and edge you have to go wr edge and cb 123.. I would have took Odunze there, with people jumping up and taking qbs like they have that they could have a shot at getting 2 really good players at edge and cb in the 2nd and 3rd round.

Penix can't throw over the fricking middle. That doesn't improve in the NFL.

This is a good point. I'm still shocked. I think the cat the saints got might have been a better pick for us

Penix had no one to throw to in the middle. Odunze was always the out/deep route.

The pick was a bit surprising but Jesus everyone, calm down. No one knows wtf will happen.
If cousins gets injured by week 6, y’all will all be praising the pick.

I'm still taking Odunze at 8 but I wouldn't have thrown the house at Cousins either.

I won't be, because I don't think Penix is going to be any good.

If this front office of idiots think he's going to be good, that's a pretty good sign that he won't be. These are the same morons who took a RB in the top 10 last year.

Could have just did like Pittsburgh and signed Wilson and Fields for 4.5 million took Odunze and with the next 3 picks edge DL and CB best at each pick and took a QB next year.

The RB we took in the top 10 last year was friggin Bijan Robinson. I feel like he single-handedly won Atlanta 2 games last year, if not 3.

Anyhow, no one knows and the draft is an all a crapshoot. It’s insane to get too high or too low on a pick.
Atlanta hasn’t donr shite in forever, maybe a little uncomfortable picks might change course.
Nothing else ever has before so what the frick y’all so mad about?

Why is this franchise so utterly fricking feckless and stupid. This move is a pure PR move, recognizable name to sell season tickets. At least we will see him play by week 3 or 4 after cousins tears a labia.

I would have loved Dallas Turner, but that doesn’t sell season tickets next week.

What if Atlanta moves up late in 1st and gets Arnold? What if they snag the #2 CB in 2nd?
Relax.

I love Dallas Turner and went to Bama, however, I think Atlanta would’ve gobbled Turner up.
I’m not sure he’s the brightest and had the persona of a follower. That’ll end a career in Atlanta.

“Overall value: Major reach. It's tough to criticize a franchise for drafting a quarterback that they see as the future of the franchise, and Penix has the traits to succeed in the NFL, but he is the sixth quarterback on my board. This feels early. -- Muench”

Who tf is Muench or whatever? A ton of people had Penix as 3rd best qb.

Now if we had picked Bo Nix, I’d be onboard with concern.

We signed Cousins for massive overpay, we should be drafting pass rushers from the SEC, or whomever was the best player available at a top ten pick.

I don’t disagree BUT cousins is 36 and just came off a major injury. I’m not disagreeing with your points or arguing, just playing devils advocate.
It wasn’t my #1 choice but doesn’t mean it’s a terrible choice. As long as we go Defense in rd2
