Dude, I really appreciate you with this thread. I used to track all the minor league Braves players when I was way younger and had more time. It makes me feel like I kid again.
The MILB player pages are really good for it, plus FanGraphs has all the batted ball info and ratios too, which is awesome.
And, if you are looking for a quick daily recap. Talking Chop (the Braves SBNation blog) does a great one daily of all the minor league teams. They put it up at 10 AM everyday.

Ozzie Albies to the 7 day DL with a foot contusion, bummer. Although I am interested to see if Demeritte gets the call up.

Mike Soroka's line tonight: 8IP 3H 0R 0BB 9K Don't think people are making a big enough deal of how good our 19 year olds are doing in AA, it's special stuff.
I guess this is the official prospect tracker thread

I'm pretty sure people are making a big deal about Allard, Soroka, and Acuna on pretty much a daily basis on the radio and other internet sites that have significant braves discussion. Their dominance hasn't been lost on any knowledgable braves fan.

I think it gets lost on a lot of people just how unusual it is for guys so young to be flat out dominating at the AA level. Folks are getting accustomed to Allard/Soroka throwing gems like it's nothing. Same thing goes for Ozzie, who I'm not sure has faced a pitcher younger than him yet.

Ohh yeah, if that's what you meant then I certainly agree with you. People were mentioning the possibility of Acuna jumping directly from AA to MLB this year and I tried to explain that even with Andruw's superior numbers over a larger number of games, he still got a sniff of AAA before making the jump to the show. That said, the situation in 96 was a little different, in that the only reason they really needed him was because of injury. I guess with the Braves current situation and the possibility of dealing an outfielder this summer, it's possible for Acuna to make the jump.
They are definitely flying up the system though. It seems like we've been hearing about Sims forever and he still hasn't made it up (for good reason, obviously).

I wouldn't mind seeing Acuña make the jump this summer (if he keeps raking) but I wonder if the FO will want to start his clock in a season that doesn't really mean anything. I personally don't like that reasoning when it comes to deciding whether or not to call somebody up but it always seems to get brought up when discussing top prospects.

I'm with you. I'd rather have a stud prospect come up and take their lumps when it doesn't mean anything rather than bring them up when a pennant is on the line. This is the perfect time for players like him, Dansby, Newcomb, etc to come up and get experience. Similar to Glavine, Smoltz, etc
coming up and struggling prior to 91.
If Acuna comes up and shows that he can handle MLB pitching over the next 1.5 seasons, then go ahead and sign him to a team-friendly long term contract like we've done in the past to get through arbitration.

I agree with you but the only problem with waiting to call them up next year is that you would then have to wait til mid may to call them up of 2018 if you want to get another full year of control on the player. This would suck if we made some additions in the offseason and are looking to contend opening day next season.

Looking like Newcomb will get called up for one of the doubleheader games. Sims could also get the call for the other game, but he's struggled his past couple of starts. Thought it would be Medlen for one game but Snit shot that down today.

according to their main site, the Braves only have 38 men on the 40-man roster right now so Newcomb could easily be added and then called up. Apparently Sims has struggled recently so they not want to quite bring him up yet.

Albers is starting for Gwinnett in place of Newcomb today, think we'll be seeing Newk's debut this weekend.

Nice. I heard on the radio yesterday that Newk was scheduled to start today and that we would know for sure whether he would get the nod or not.

Lewis has been getting a lot of traction with us taking him at 5. I don't think anybody knows what the pick is but the Braves. I have a feeling it's gonna be Beck but nothing will surprise me.

People pitch differently in the big stadiums but I'm excited to see what he's got.

Mel Rojas released by Gwinnett and signed by some Korean team. The outfield in Gwinnett is looking pretty thin, wonder if we see an outfielder from AA get a call up...
