Our idiot corporate overlords aren’t going to pay up. With the Acuna and Albies gift they can’t pay this man? F them.

I've said it for a while now, but thinking the Braves are capable of winning a title with their holy trinity of incompetence at the ownership, front-office, and Manager level is a fool's errand.
I legit think Freeman walks. I also don't want to participate in a "GoFundMe" for a multi-millionaire.
I would, however, be willing to participate in any efforts that removes Liberty Media from control of the franchise.

I do as well. It would really suck to see him go, but how many of these long term deals at $30M AAV have actually worked out for the teams who signed them?
5/$150M is a big, big commitment for a 32 year old, especially for a team who isn't in the upper echelon of payroll.
That said, I do expect the payroll the be significantly increased next season and if AA wants to bring him back, he could find the money.

Take it from a guy whose been following Atlanta and Georgia sports teams since the early 70's, if you just automatically figure they are going to find a way to totally frick things up the vast majority of times you will be correct.

This victim complex and curse shite needs to stop. Just end it.

I agree. There is no curse.
Honestly, 2/3 teams were just in the final 4 of their respective playoff tournaments.
With that said, I think the Falcons and Hawks are both well aligned from an Owner-Management-Coaching perspective for the foreseeable future so, let's just keep taking hacks.
The Braves have crumbling infrastructure, but, there still may be a chance to right the ship if Liberty spends money and fires both AA and Snitker with haste.

I didn't say anything about a curse or being a victim bud, I simply expressed what my experience has been. You'll see

John Coppolella built this team. AA has been average, at best.

Its a victim complex, and it permeates the fanbase.

I don't believe in curses, but I will say the Atlanta fan bases mirror the franchises pretty well with apathy.
Freeman made it very clear after the NLCS how he felt. He would want to stay in Atlanta if the proper things were put in place. It was a message to the front office. Instead, we get slightly less then we had last season, and combined with increased injuries this season we just haven't had the same luck. I to think he goes elsewhere because he wants to win a ring before he retires. I was ostracized for saying this 6 months ago though.

"Braves icon (and current assistant hitting coach) Chipper Jones weighed in on Freddie Freeman’s contractual situation in a chat with The Athletic’s Jeff Schultz. Jones stresses that he’s only offering his own opinion but wonders whether the Liberty Media-owned Braves are waiting to see what 2021 attendance numbers look like before making a market-value offer to Freeman. The Hall of Famer also calls Liberty Media an “absentee owner” that is “rooted in trying to make money off the franchise” more so than conventional ownership structures. Atlanta fans will want to check out the column for Jones’ full, lengthy quotes on the matter. Freeman, 31, didn’t start the 2021 season particularly well, but he’s hitting a much more characteristic .284/.411/.527 over his past 20 games (90 plate appearances). He’s scheduled to become a free agent for the first time this winter after the $135MM contract extension he signed eight years ago draws to a close."

Well, yeah. AA doesn't know what his payroll for next year will be yet.

The Braves really have the worst ownership in Atlanta, my gosh.
What owner waits to see what revenue is before making an investment? Are you fricking kidding?
Tony Ressler, Arthur Blank, I beseech thee - buy this team.

I'd love to see Blank do it but he's too old, IMO.
