Spring Training ticket question

So I have been going down every year for the last 5 years. Going down this Friday for one game on Saturday against the Cardinals.
Lawn tickets are $20 a piece, which is fine. The Ticketmaster charges are $15 on top of that which is dumb as hell.
I remember buying at the box office on the day of costing a bit more but can't remember what the upcharge is on the day of the game.
Is it going to be a wash when it comes down to it? Anyone been this year so far?

I went to Spring Training back in 2015. I was with folks who didn't want to sit in the lawn. We ended up spending more for Spring Training tickets than we do for better seats during the regular season. That was probably my first and only time going to spring training.
Not to mention that I had to watch the likes of Alberto Callaspo, Jonny Gomes, Eric Stults, Trevor Cahill, and Pedro Ciriaco play. There was literally no one that was exciting to see that year during spring training.

Lawn seats are awesome. To your point, these are the most expensive tickets I will purchase all year (normally go with cheapest just to get to the chophouse). The good part is they serve big Sweetwaters and normally a random beer from the visitors area for a really good price with refills a couple dollars off.

FYI pay at the box office. They charge an additional 5 bucks a ticket ($25 for the cardinals). Paid $50 total. Ticketmaster fees make it more if you buy ahead of time.

Glad you figured it out. Just catching up on this board. Used to work down there (my roommate at the time actually ran the box office there)... definitely better to buy from the box office than pay TM fees.

I don't understand how TM is able to charge so much in fee's.

Because they have a monopoly on everything.
I just bought tickets for Hootie and the Blowfish at Suntrust in July and the ticketmaster fee was $20.

Is stubhub not an alternative? I honestly don’t know how the ticket model works. Sucks.

Possibly as a secondary market, but if the event is in demand, the prices will be higher, and Stubhub has a fee as well.
I was looking at tickets for the second round NCAA games this past Sunday in Nashville. They were cheap for the two games. Lowest price was like $50, but the Stubhub fee was almost $20 as well.
