he deal will be for 20 years for the facility, which will be named State Farm Arena. That term was the same that Philips held with the franchise which was set to expire next year. The deal is for $175 million as first reported by Channel 2 Action News and confirmed by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. The deal was announced Wednesday and a press conference is scheduled for later today. The arena has undergone an extensive $192.5 million renovation in multiple phases over the past two years. The work is scheduled to be completed in October and will be ready for the Hawks 2018-19 regular season.

Could be worse, especially since:
That's pretty damn nice for a 20-year-old arena.

I wonder if State Farm insures "train wrecks".
I've seen a few hawks seasons that fit the description.

Nah, I just got my haircut last week and won't be needing one for another month or so.

All reports are indicating that "the farm" is a yuge improvement over Phillips. They've got my interest and I might end up going to a game here in the not too distant future.

I went to the opening game. I mean it’s arena. Can only do so much. The scoreboard is dope and the concessions are cheaper

Yes that’s true. It was the loudest I ever heard the arena. Not sure if the redesign had anything to do with it tho

Should've renamed it after the Omni.

If someone with $185 million wanted to pay to do so, sure.

i honestly don't know if they paid for the rights, or if the name of the hotel chain originated from the Omni Complex name in Atlanta.

That might be the case:

The Dunfey Family of New England founded the company in 1958. From humble beginnings at the 35-room Lamie’s Motor Inn in Hampton, New Hampshire, the business eventually grew to more than 8,000 rooms across North America. In 1983, upon acquisition of Omni International Hotels with three properties in Atlanta, Norfolk and Miami, Dunfey changed its name to Omni Hotels and focused on operating first-class, full-service hotels.
