Matt Ryan has agreed to a 5 year extension with @AtlantaFalcons that makes him first $30 mill per year QB w $100 mill guaranteed, per league and team sources.

Cap space is exactly what this deal does. We didn't have it before, we do now with the bonus structure. If they had done it several weeks ago, we could have signed some players. Now we can. I don't think you understand the bonus/structure of these deals. One thing Dimitroff has never done is put us in salary cap hell...it may be his only redeeming quality.

Thefalcoholic is guesstimating that it’ll free up 4-7 mil for 2018. Some of that will have to be used on Julio, right? Maybe enough to go after another DT too.

We were a top 10 defense last year with Beasley playing out of place. Can we use an edge rusher? Absolutely! But to think our issues last year were on the defensive side of the ball and because of one position is ridiculous. The team was borderline retarded on not shooting themselves in the foot with ridiculous penalties. They are as talented as any team in the league.

They drafted a DT in Senat in round 3.

we addressed every need in this draft. We've signed our QB for the next 5 years. Going to be awesome watching Ryan, Ridley, and Julio light it up. Glad we didn't pin our hopes on a project edge rusher, and 40 year old QB.
