I learned to just laugh after the super bowl.

Not I. I was mad last night.
The Super Bowl run was crazy and no one thought we'd be there. Yea we collapsed but I at least hung my hat on us overachieving.

We were SUPPOSED to win this series. Had every chance and should have and yet atlanta sports misery index climbs even higher. I am officially done with ATL sports other than the United. I'll root for them but I just can't keep getting invested and getting let down. I'm now in my 30s and I'm just beaten down.

I think that's what makes it tough... the fact we aren't Buffalo, Cleveland, or any of these cities that aren't ever close... we get close.

The Hawks had a 10 year post-season run. The Falcons under Matt Ryan are one of the top-10 winningest franchises in the league during that span. The Braves since the 90s generally always get to the playoffs.

I think what kills me is the tragedy in it all.

-Leyritz in 96
-Eugene Robinson in 98
-The Danny Heatley car accident
-the Steve Smith/JR Rider trade
-Infield Fly
-Demarre Carroll breaking his ankle in game 1 of the ECF
-Thabo Sefolosha getting his leg broken at a club
-The Navarro Bowman no-call PI in the 2012 title game
-28 to frickin' 3

This list isn't comprehensive by any means, but it's quite possibly the most baffling thing I've ever been apart of.

I'll love these guys until the grave, but, we need a parade on peachtree.

The Atlanta United thing was cool, but, let's be real - it's not the same as a title in the big 3. That's what we need to be striving for.

Can't remember which poster has this sig, but something to the effect of:

When I die, I want to make sure to have a Falcon, Hawk, Brave, and Dawg there as pallbearers... so they can let me down one last time.

Sadly, too damn accurate.

The Dany Heatley car accident

The largest tragedy of them all. Snyder was a damn good fourth-line center, and Heatley's career, while solid, wasn't what it was supposed to be- and it wasn't in Atlanta. There's a great book about it called A Season of Loss, and it shows that the Thrashers never recovered from that accident. The overall franchise died pretty much with #37.

Add Kent Hrbeck to the list.

Good news is that we live in a good place.

I’d rather live here and lose the NLDS than live in St. Louis and win the WS every year.

Wanna win Super Bowls? Move to Boston. I’d rather be here.

This isn't mutually exclusive. We can have both. The mindset of everyone in town needs to shift to that.

LA has beautiful weather, a great economy, and titles. It's not unheard of to hire competent management and change the culture to chase nothing but greatness.

Me to. I'm in my upper 50's and have been a fan of Georgia sports teams my entire life and I have just come to expect these things. You have to find the humor in it because it apparently is never going to change.
