Just look at these numbers! He's leading in 2 of the 3 triple crown categories on top of it. Someone who is better at math extrapolate these #'s out for a full season. He's the best player in baseball that nobody talks about. Well they are now. Thanks to Kevin McAlpin for the stats.

Freddie Freeman now leads the National League in average (.359), RBI (48) and doubles (20).

He’s second in OPS (1.128), runs (44), walks (37), OBP (.471) and slugging (.658) with just 29 strikeouts in 184 at bats on the season.

Sure feels like MVP numbers.

He has been great ever since he broke out of his slow start. I agree that he should win MVP but it'll probably either be Betts or Tatis Jr.

Tatis is in a major slump right now. Freddie's candidacy has picked up steam the last week or so, national guys are noticing.

Freddie probably comes in 2nd behind betts. I think he would have won if he didn't have such a slow start after covid. That said, this team should get a ton of love for awards.

absolute locks should be Freddie and Ozuna for Silver Slugger and Dansby for Gold Glove

There is also an extremely strong case for a Freddie Gold Glove and a D'arnaud silver slugger, though awards voters have proven their stupidity in the past.

I expect Freddie gets pretty close to MVP and Ozuna, Acuna and Fried all receive down ballot support(dansby might also for people who focus on bWAR)

Martin and O'Day might have received a few odd down ballot cy young votes in a full season, but Fried probably ends up the only competitor for us based on how short the season was.

Anderson might get a few down ballot votes for ROY. This will be interesting, since he won't have exhausted his rookie eligibility, and could conceivably get significant ROY support next year as well.

If he has another year like this year he is going to get big money from the Dodgers, Yankees, Red Sox, etc. in 2022. It will be interesting to see where he goes.

I actually think Freddie is the one guy they'll open up the checkbook for. He'll finish his career with the Braves.

Freddie is the face of the franchise. He ain't going anywhere...would be a huge PR disaster if they didn't sign em.

The Braves better back the Brinks truck up for him.

He has been with us since Chipper's twilight years, into the shite years, and back into the rebirth. He's a one team for life kind of guy. I will legit be upset if he leaves Atlanta.

I actually agree the Braves will offer him whatever he wants, that’s not what I question. Will he be willing to stay here when he has less odds of a World Series?

No offense, but you're out of your damn mind. Freddie is a Brave for life and the Braves will sign him to a hefty extension that will effectively make him a lifelong Brave.

If the Braves bring back Ozuna, and the emergence of Riley, that is a World Series winning lineup. The pen is WS caliber. And when we get Soroka back, I'd put our top 2( him and Fried) up against anybody. Pair that w/Anderson and maybe a Bauer on a one year deal w/Wright who looks like he may have turned a corner, our rotation looks formidable next year.

Freddie has just of good of odds of at least getting to the WS w/the Braves as he would anywhere else. And frankly, the Braves only real competition are the Dodgers.

This was a bad take.

Again, I agree, but there are a lot of ifs in there, and the Braves haven’t won a post season series in almost 20 years. So it is fact not at all out of the question if he were to explore his options.

Have you not seen the Braves offense this year? And their pen. The only thing holding them back this year is the rotation. That won't be the case next year.

Freddie is gonna be a Brave for life w/a great shot to win a title or two. You have nothing to worry about.

The Red Sox are headed for a rebuild. You don't start those by giving a mega deal to someone on the wrong side of 30. Freddie will be a brave for life and the braves will be a serious contender for the entire time he is around

He has straight up said in interviews he wants to be a brave for life. Quick Google search:

2019
quote:

Freeman said an interview with MLB.com, "This is my 13th year in the organization, and I love it here." He continued on to say, "I’m comfortable here. I’ve made the money. I now just want to end my career here... I don’t want to go anywhere else. I don’t."

I want to be here forever
