Obvious RG is a HUGE liability and it looks like both might be available...the ND kid is rated higher than both and should be gone...he didn't impress me anyway vs Ga or Miami.

So do we reach in the 1st Rd or go the FA route?

It's a hole, but I don't like drafting a guard in the first round.

If you look at the emergence of really good DL's and DT's in the NFC plus passing schemes changing.I think RG has now emerged as the 2nd most importantl position on the OL.

It can't just be a patchwork or throw away position anymore.

Well, as a Dawg fan, Wynn was significantly better as a LT than a RG, so I don't know if drafting him to his 2nd best position would be ideal.

He's a guard and had much more time to play and develop as an OT.Ive seen him creep up to 1st Rd status as OG.NFL OG is closer to a CFB OT anyway.

Didn't say it was. Just said that I didn't like using a 1st Rd pick on one.

2nd or 3rd round would be ideal.

It is pretty rare to see a first round guard... Zack Martin of the Cowboys is the only one I can think of in recent memory. It seemed like a reach at the time but it turned out to be a great pick.

I'd sign a guard. My guess is you can get them for cheaper than you could a tackle or center. Sign a guard, draft a tackle, and then let Matthews walk after next season if he doesn't improve.

There's a chance we lose Poe, Clayborn, Shelby, and Reed this year. I'd guess Quinn will want to find more DL depth

LB isn't close to being a priority

I'd love to get Da'Ron Payne, DT, Bama to be honest. I feel like we can get a G during FA, however, we don't have a ton of cap space.

I hate to say it but we overpaid for DeVonta Freeman. Dude disappears in the biggest games and Tevin Coleman played huge in the Philly game and even the Super Bowl last year.

My preference would have been to let Devonta walk, keep Coleman, and draft another RB. I'd keep this cycle going where you have an experienced back backed up by a drafted back who then moves up to the 1 spot after the experienced back hits FA. If we are going to continue paying our QB and WR, then we cannot really afford to pay for a RB as well.

David DeCastro, and he was probably the best guard in 2017.
