Everybody on Braves' twitter is saying "Fire Snitker for not letting Winkler or Viz pitch" and "DFA sosolovich" I only agree with the latter without knowing for sure what was up with those other two pitchers it seems like a drastic reason to fire a manager. At least the braves can still be in 1st place and win the series tomorrow if Sanchez pitches well and the bullpen doesn't blow it again. Here's the melt session if anybody wants to read: LINK

He was horrible and hanging breaking balls all over the place.I'm assuming Snitker was thinking about tomorrow's game aND just conceded the game in the 14th.

Ok,why not put Winkler or Vizcaino in or even WARM them
up in the 14th when it was CLEAR Socolovich wasn't going to be effective in the 14th?

Here ya go,per Snitker

quote:

“I’m staying away from Viz and Wink all day today,” he said. “Just giving them a day. That’s looking ahead."

Looking ahead???He wasn't putting those guys in no matter how bad Sokolovich was getting shelled so yea,he
conceded the game once it got to the 14th in order to rest Vizcaino and Winkle.

Per Brandon McCarthy

quote:

“I’m more of the mind to win games that are there to be won,” said starter Brandon McCarthy, who left after the sixth inning at 84 pitches, admitting he had some fatigue due to the humidity. “Win game 6 before game 7

My assumption was spot on.

Socolovich is headed to Gwinnett, they knew he was the one to drop when Gohara just came back. Saw that on Braves' twitter, and the lineup today:

"Concede" maybe a bit harsh...let's just say he didn't give us our best chance to win.I guess I could understand If we weren't playing the Nats and it was later in the season and both relievers had logged multiple innings.

1st inning, Sanchez got the gnats fine, then in the bottom of the inning Ozzie got to 2nd on an infield hit where the pitcher got hurt and they had to relieve him with an MLB debut guy. Then Freddie flied out in the stands with Rendon reaching over Braves fans (if he's in the stands you can take the ball away from him ya chickens). But then, Nick comes through with an RBI to score Albies. 1 nothing Braves!

2nd inning, Sanchez gets the gnats swatted 3 up 3 down again.

Braves' half: the Braves stranded 2.

Sanchez had more trouble in the 3rd, gave up a 2 run homer unearned but the Braves are still losing 2 to 1.

Braves half of the 3rd, Albies hit the gnat pitcher pretty far but caught, then Freddie hit one off the wall for a double... but Markakis got thrown out barely, bummer.

It was still 2 to 1 in the 7th (also known as Braves comeback time) and Swanson hit a solo homer to tie it up!

Winkler came in for the 8th, and got the gnats 3 up 3 down. Also struck out Harper easily.

The f'ing gnats' reliever in the 8th threw high and inside once to Freddie and twice to Kurt, who got hit by the 2nd one. I hope Camargo blasts one.

The Braves got a call reversed! In the bottom of the 9th, when Swanson got a double the half blind ump thought he was out but nope.

They go out west tomorrow, we won't see them until late at 10 pm (9 central). When Julio is pitching against SD with their pitcher Richard.

LOVE late night games. Way to finish off the nats and hit the road with some momentum.
