Would you trade Matt Ryan for DeShaun Watson straight up if Bill want to make the trade?

*It's quarantine don't whine about it being a dumb question*

Yeah, of course. Watson is the better player right now and is a decade younger. No brainer.

And I have nothing but love for Matt Ryan.

... or even a spin on this question:

*IF* Tua were to fall to #16, would you draft Tua as a 1st rounder even though it's clearly not a *need* right now?

No. Ryan's contract structure makes him unmovable for a few more years. Cutting him before 2022 would be a huge cap hit. Wouldn't be able to take advantage of having Tua on a rookie deal.

Valid point. Dunno how long Ryan's contract goes out until.
If Tua fell to the Saints, I'd probably just go get Coronavirus and hope I died.

His contract runs through 2023. The Falcons can get out of it without a cap hit after 2021. My guess would be that he plays out his current deal and retires after 2023 (age 38). I can't see the Falcons cutting him unless he completely falls off a cliff in 2021 or beyond.

Sigh. I don't see us winning a SB in the next 3 years so kinda feel bad for Ryan. He's taken a lot of shite even from his own fanbase. Would love for him to get 1 just to tell the haters to F off and then retire after he got 1.

I hate using the Saints as an example, but their 2017 draft class is what has brought them from perennial 7-9 to Super Bowl contender. It happened in one season.

All it takes is one or two good drafts to turn a franchise around. See what the Falcons did in 2015 and 2016.

Only if BOB sends a 2nd and we send back a 4th. That seems to be his sweet spot.

LOL...I love our rivalry...Geaux Saints! Please don't die, dude, stay safe. Football is coming back and we will once again be showing the nation the most under rated rivalry in all of professional sports!

I think people have started to take notice. We didn't get the prime time Thanksgiving game two years in a row by coincidence. I wouldn't mind that being permanent, but it won't be.

The Patriots "only" got a 2nd round pick for Garappolo, but he was a 2nd round pick himself so that ended up being a wash. I guess if the Falcons didn't have any immediate starting holes that needed to be filled, then I wouldn't be opposed to taking a risk on a 1st round qb if we could turn it into a 1st or 2nd round pick via trade, but this year we can't really afford to do so.

I think the Falcons are going to do what they can to have one more run at a SB with Ryan, so they wouldn't make a first round pick with an eye to the future just yet.

If Ryan, Watson or any player wants to win a Super Bowl Atlanta is not the place to be. It ain't going to happen.

One of the Falcons' biggest problems that isn't talked about enough is Dimitroff continuing to trade up in drafts, which hurts the team's ability to add cheap, quality depth by not having as many draft picks. I'd love to see them trade down for a change if Kinlaw isn't on the board at 16.

The amount of cock you must suck, is outstanding. Don’t let fake-punt-Kirby get you down, bro. NFL has parody.

I look forward to Atlanta’s and the state of Georgia’s first championship since 1990 (thx, Tech), being Matty Ice and the boys.

Why come here to be a C u next Tuesday?
