6th seed. More importantly we own the tie breaker over the next FOUR teams behind us

Detroit (Saints still melting over this one)
Seattle
GB
Dallas

How TF did we lose to the bills and Miami at Home

Yeah man!

The Bills and Miami game Im ok with. AFC foes. Sucks to lose them but if you are going to lose then lose the out of conference games.

Most importantly, the Falcons seem to be turning it up at precisely the same time as last year.

Sark is finally starting to figure out Matts and everyones strengths...sans the toss running play.

Matt excels at play action bootlegs. Finally have seen it more prevalent the last two weeks. Its a welcomed sight.

6-4 with six remaining. Is 10-6 likely in as the 6th seed?

Remaining schedule:

Bucs
Vikings
Saints
@Bucs
@Saints
Panthers

One way to look at it is simply win the remaining 4 home games. However on a given day the Panthers, Vikings, and/or Saints could win at our place.

Seems like the Bucs games are must wins. I know they have won 2 in a row, but I think they are the worst team remaining on the schedule by a decent amount. Get those 2 and you probably have to win 2 out of these four very tough games:

Vikings
Saints
@Saints
Panthers

Basically every game is now a playoff game AND I LOVE IT! If we take the 2 Bucs games + the Vikings game, we're sitting great.

That Vikings game will be tough though. Over the last few games, our 1st half team can whip anyone's arse. ANYONE'S!
But that 2nd half team, meh.

Yep. Glad it's a home game. It'd be huge confidence boost if we get that win. Of note, Carolina still has to play Minnesota and Green Bay. Saints have to go out west against the Rams. Hopefully our team is starting to hit its peak.

Have to come out and take care of business next Sunday.

Get me to home games with Vikings/Saints back to back at 7-4 baby. Just do it.

Oh yea! If the Vikings can take care of Carolina and the Rams beat NO, oh boy, not only do we control our destiny but things get much easier with not having to win.

Regardless, the NFC South is FARRRRRRRRRRRRRRR from settled but everyone here in New Orleans is planning on who they want to play in the NFC Championship already. This could get really fun for me.

Bucs - W
Vikings - ?
Saints - ?
@Bucs - W
@Saints - L
Panthers - W

I see 9-5 with 2 toss ups.

10-6 is most likely scenario or we go all 2016, win out and finish 12-4

9-5 could get us in the playoffs but less than 50% chance I think. 10-6 should get us a 5th or 6th spot.
We win out and HO-LEE-SHIOT I'd be one amped son of a gun. But let me not act like a Saints fan and be an idiot.

One. Game. At. A. Time.

Seriously, is there anything more pathetic than going through and downvoting an entire thread? Especially an entire thread about a team on that team's board (that doesn't involve you or your team at all)?

Typical, but pathetic.

Be careful or they will show up on masse to post photos of other grown men wearing jewelry and claiming it as their own.

Can I officially join the bandwagon? Been following since my buddy from HS joined the falcons, and man he has dominated the last 2 weeks! I may continue watching even after he leaves.

MSB has been good today. Russell Wilson will never be Drew Bree's, the Seahawks are garbage.

10 wins would almost certainly get us in the playoffs given the tiebreakers we hold over the other 4 teams. 9 wins would be very close.

Don't know why not. Missouri players have been very good to the Falcons

Now that MNF is complete for this week, I'd like to take a look at the Falcons playoff chances.

With tiebreakers over Seattle, GB, Detroit, and Dallas, I think a wild card spot is there for the taking unless there is a huge meltdown.

That said, I'd like to move discussion to the division. If the Falcons win out, then they win the division. Under this scenario, unless my math is wrong, the worst they could do is finish tied with the Panthers. If that happens, then the Falcons would win the tie breaker based on record within the division (Falcons would have one loss and the Panthers would have 2 losses since they already lost to NO).

If we end up in a 3 way tie, then I think the Falcons would likely win that based on conference record. A realistic way for this to happen would have the Falcons losing at New Orleans, the Saints losing at Atlanta and vs Carolina, and the Panthers losing to Minnesota and at Atlanta. All 3 would be 1-1 against each other, all 3 would have a 4-2 divisional record, and Atlanta would win the tiebreaker with a 10-2 conference record while the Saints have an 8-4 and Panthers have a 7-5.

Of course, as always, it's all about 1 game at a time, but figured I'd look at various scenarios that could potentially happen.

If we lose 2 more games and finish with 10 wins, then I think that too much would have to happen to have a shot at the division, although it's certainly possible. I think the only game that we can afford to lose (if we split with New Orleans) is the game with Minnesota.
