The Hawks are not the Falcons, and certainly not the Braves.
These guys are killers.
Capella saying “we’re gonna send you on vacation,” then Trae taking a logo 3 while the Knicks are getting their “pity” applause and then bowing, then waving goodbye to the crowd? We haven’t had that edge or instinct around here in maybe... shoot, I dunno, Deion Sanders?
If Embiid is slowed by his knee, we could upset Philly. We matchup well.
To be only 3 years into the rebuild and having this kind of roster and progress in the NBA is truly mind-blowing.
LFGHawks!

As said earlier, they're playing with house money. But damn if I don't think they have what it takes to at least get to the ECF.

Definitely now. But in the Knicks series only because they didn’t have home court.
At this point I don’t expect much but even if they get swept it’s a good season.
As long as next year they are better.

Which is absolutely WILD considering the zenith of the franchise in Atlanta was the 2015 season, we tore it down to the studs in 2017, and could possibly reach that mark in year ONE post rebuild?
The Braves rebuild was impressive as well 3 years prior, but they got squashed in the NLDS and unfortunately have a hamstrung front office and an utter baffoon as a manager.
Sadly, the Braves have Liberty Media and the Hawks have Tony Ressler. This is what gives me the optimism for the Hawks long-term and makes me think the blown 3-1 lead against LA was as close as we'll get until the team is sold. With Acuna and Ozzie on team friendly deals, they should be spending like CRAZY. Infuriates me. Going cheap on Melancon is CLASSIC Liberty Media Braves.

I believe Melancon took less money to go to the West Coast.

He said he went to San Diego because he wanted to have a chance to win, which is very telling. I'm guessing he thought this current iteration of the Braves has plateaued.

Yeah this is not a true statement.

This is true. And that is also home.

I don't remember seeing him say that.

Melancon left the Braves because he said he wanted the best chance to win. Facts.

Face it - Liberty Media is a cancer to our World Series chances.
But, back to the topic at hand: LETS GO HAWKS!!!

I’ve been following some of the playoff hockey for the first time since the Thrashers left Atlanta...
Damn what I would give to see a Ressler-run NHL franchise in Atlanta. That Atlanta Spirit bullshite was even worse than Liberty Media and I doubt Atlanta gets a third shot at it

The NHL playoffs are insanely fun to watch and would be more fun if I had a team to root for.

Didn’t the Thrashers have better attendance then the hawks some years?
If an arena was built in the battery or somewhere near the north springs Marta station with good ownership, it could be successful. I follow Boston now because my cousin married David Krejci, though his contract is over this season. I also started following Nashville about five years ago. We get all of their games now with the Fox/Bally sports app.

Yes
Issue with the Thrashers wasn’t attendance.
The ownership sucked from day one.
If Arthur or equivalent had been the owner they’d still be here.

I remember attending one of the latter season ticket meetings with Don Waddell and someone asked him why they didn’t spend more, he said: “I like employment”

It wasn't pretty at the end but to go into the number #1 seeds house and take a win is monumental.
These Hawks are real!

I don’t generally give a shite about the NBA these days, but I tuned in for the final few minutes, how was there not a foul called after the inbound and Philly got it for an easy lay in?
Posted on 6/6/21 at 3:52 pm to JCdawg
Probably because the referees wanted to get out of there alive. Phili fans are the worst. Trae was playing around at the end also and made a bad turnover that started all the mistakes. Dogdanovic saved the day. A win by 40 or 1 doesn't matter as it's in the books and the advantage is now with Atlanta.
They never saw this coming. Next game we (Hawks) cant take their feet off the gas that strategy won't work on the 76'rs...
Hawks rocked their world today.

These are the same people who booed Michael Irvin when he was laying on the dogshit turf at that dump Veterans Stadium with a broken neck.
