Phillies have the cardinals home then @ dodgers @ Padres. They have STL at 500 and the other two with winning records.

Over the same span we have the Nats, Detroit and the pirates - all below 500 - during that same span. Followed by the pirates again before we face the Phillies for the first time at home.

We need to go on a run the next 10 days. Our schedule is considerably easier. Would be nice to go into the Phillies series a game or two up on them.

We better handle the Nats because they are a disaster this year. Talk radio has had no lack of placing the (well-deserved) blame on nearly every aspect of the organization - coaches, ownership, GM, bullpen, errors/bad fielding, injuries etc. I don't follow the money side of things in baseball but from what I understand is that they can't even afford to get a quality bullpen or anyone else to even do anything about it.

I actually almost feel bad for Scherzer - that man is having a lot of stellar outings ruined by the rest of the team.

Oh well.

the Braves got RBI's from Markakis and McCann in the 4th. 2-1 Braves lead!

The Braves took out Fried for Swarzak in the 6th after Fried walked in a run. 3-2 gnats.

Riley didn't have a problem with their reliever bearclaw, it's 5-4. Come on McCann keep it going.

Ozzie doesn't need to bat lefty anymore. He hasn't done well.

Ozzie is always 0-2 or 1-2 batting lefty

Yeah he needs to stay right handed, he's athletic enough to grab them.

I think Doolittle has been pretty good aside from one terrible inning where he gave up 6. Hopefully we give him another bad one.

I like the bullpen moves so far. They're getting us a tad better. Strausburg has been a beast tonight.

Too bad they lost but at least they kept trying. Fredie went down swinging at that high one. Hope Gausman beats that Anibal guy tomorrow. Ronald and Ozzie could run on his slow pitches but somebody won't let them try probably.
