In all seriousness, this was a guy who averaged about 2.5 BB/9 for his career until it all of a sudden doubled the last two years. In regards to relief pitching, I am of the opinion that a change in scenery can help moreso than any other position on the team. Biddle was clearly done here and it seemed more mental than anything else. Hopefully this is one of those trades that work out for both squads.

And we obviously can't rely on Viz to put together an injury free season, and he costs way too much to gamble on. Should have never been signed before this season anyways.

I like the move, bring in some veteran presence, someone who hopefully won't get his head rattled like Biddle did. Most of all just throw a damn strike.

It's somewhat of a shame for Biddle, there was a point last year where it looked as though he would become and solid middle reliever. But any ounce of pressure and he cracked, he needed a big lead.

There's really nothing to think about this other than we got rid of a guy in Biddle who is taking up a 40 man spot and got back a guy in Swarzak, who is a free agent after 2019 and will not be back, and Viz is only in this deal to somewhat even the salaries since he is out for the year and is a free agent after the season.

Swarzak is probably not going to help this team, and Id expect another move or two like this since we will need all the 40 man spots we can get this offseason.

they had already DFA'd Biddle so in reality he wasn't on the 40-man anymore anyways. So no, this wasn't a move made to open a spot for next year because that had already been done prior to the move.

He probably won't help the team this year, but they acquired Swarzak in hopes that he will. Like you said, if he doesn't, then he is a FA anyways after this year so no big deal.

With the way the pen is, if Biddle would have stayed with the Braves organization, he would have been back up at some point, hence why I said it’s opening up a spot. Should have clarified.

I do think we make two impact reliever moves. Signing Kimbrel after the draft and trading Allard or Wilson(maybe Ynoa) to the Giants for one of their three relievers on the last year of their deal(Dustin, Smith, Watson). Would help up this year and would also clear another 40 man spot in the offseason.

I’m too lazy to look, but does anyone know of a list of the guys that will have to be protected in the off-season? I know it’s 4 years out of college and 5 out of HS. Demeritte, Burrows, Clouse(?), Weigel, Davidson, Didder, Izzy. Maybe that’s close?

Yeah that's their vs lefty pitchers lineup. Hope it works out for Ozzie and Camargo and the others. Hard to tell what they're facing with the pitcher's first game of the year.

Acuña tattooed the first pitch of the game about 15 rows beyond the left field wall.

The Braves said Swarzak is at the game tonight and available to pitch relief, but they had to send Parsons to Gwinnett.

The Cubs were barely beating the phillies in Chicago, was hoping they could keep up the good work with 3 innings to go, but they went and gave up 3 runs in the next inning.

Soroka is still on fire, he's tossed 5 shutout (thing we can't talk about going on) innings so far on not too many pitches. Has a 4 K's too.

Acuna hit another homer, 4-1 in the 7th. Every hit a homer pretty much tonight.
