You lived in Yocum for 4 years?

Geeze, interested in your definition of a "good time".

Anyone who has to look at Yocum, Humphreys, Reid or Hotz would like to have a word with you.

ETA: I forgot Gladson and Buchanan to the list of shitpiles.

ETA again: Forgot about Pomfret. Add it to the list.

You pretty much got all of em. Outside of Maple Hill, NW Quads, Gibson, Founders, Gregson,& Holcombe our dorms are pretty ugly. Not sure what the university/architects were thinking when they built these things. I'm just not sure how you could step back and look at Pomfret and think "wow what a beautiful building" even when it was brand new. I just don't understand 60s-80s college architecture I guess lol.

I absolutely love Founders and Gregson. Had the entire campus been of that architecture it would easily be the best looking campus in the SEC.

I genuinely hate that Yocum and Humphreys are so visible from all directions. All the buildings I mentioned look like they were designed by North Korean architects. I worry that the boxy garbage we are seeing built now by Marlon Blackwell and his followers will be viewed the way Yocum is viewed today.

3. Was in Pomfret as a frosh.

Made lifelong friends over the shenanigans that went down in that dump.

Hallway long slip-n-slide, riding food trays and matresses down the hill above Barnhill one snowy night, float trips, watching automotive carnage ensue out the window after a particularly severe ice storm, throwing furniture out the fourth floor study room window, air conditioning and booze - lots of booze!

Short walk from Brough (meal plan!) and Dickson St.

Living in the middle of campus with all your buds was the GOAT.

The snow/ice storm of fall semester 2000. I had a 4WD SUV at the time and had to go pick friends up all over campus that were stuck. The amount of cars wrecked out all over campus that day was astounding.

True, the traditional architecture is the best architecture. But it has to be done right, and done with attention to detail.

The new sorority houses are really nice. All very traditional and very detailed buildings.

Marlon Blackwell is a scourge.

The university should knock down most of what's along Dickson Street and start over. Maple Street is gorgeous by comparison. Of course you have the law school building, which might top all of the ugly buildings on campus. It looks like a stucco-encrusted cruise ship was stranded there.

If you meant Kimpell Hall, you'd be correct.

The late 60-70s crap all over campus is HORRIBLE though, 100% agree with you.

SAE house is by far the best on campus. KE is pretty solid too, very ivy league.

It already is viewed as trash by everyone except the AIA. Dumbasses have no taste, modern architecture is all about ego
