My perception of all of that was that Gus was lied to. Nutter was taking heat for sucking, Gus was sitting there with Mustain and 3 or 4 more top recruits. Gus is hired as OC and brings them all with him, and I believe is told the offense is his to run.

They rip off a series of wins, and are probably setting up their own little clique because of the success and the fact that Nutt is a retard. So Nutt feels threatened, all the crap with Mustain, Nutt takes over the offense, Malzahn bolts.

I never saw a reason to be pissed at Malzahn through any of it. What did I miss?

Well, Nutt and Herring hated the guy and we're openly ridiculing him. I believe that Herring said his stupid high school gimmick shite would never work against the better teams in the country. And I believe that shite was even reported on the local news. The entire staff was fighting with one another. Why? Partially because Gus was politicking behind the scenes to get his bosses shite canned. Presumably so he could take over as head coach. Lol. This from a guy that is fresh out of coaching at the high school level.

Basically the guy is a fricking snake.

Nutt wasn't innocent in any of that stuff either though. He's a shitbag too and needed to go. But it is NEVER OK to jump the chain of command like that. It is very unprofessional. Between those two clowns the entire damn department was in total disarray. Gus cares about one person and one person only. Himself. His players felt betrayed by him. The ones he brought with him. How many of those guys actually stuck around? One?

The fact we were even willing to consider bringing him back here is frustrating. If they had done it for real it would have been infuriating.

It would be a mistake to do so. It turned the entire program into a national embarrassment. That's how you get gems like, "I called that play, Chuck." And any number of other ridiculous things that happened back then. Airplanes with banners. FOIA requests for phone records, etc. That shite was ugly. I would prefer we just stayed the hell away from any of the players in that drama. It blows my mind that anyone would want to bring any part of that back here.

Like I said in another thread, it's a power struggle for the King Retard title.

I agree with this. But I'm not even sure any names have "leaked". I don't believe a single thing I read on Hogville. They worship 3-4 of those guys thinking they have top shelf inside information, but I don't buy any of it. Many of those guys were leading the Gruden parade five years ago. It's unreadable now.

I'm thinking all the names we're kicking around are pure speculation. With Norvell, it may be pretty good speculation, but still.

I'm not even convinced Gus was ever seriously considered. I know nothing. BUT, I know how devisive he is in NWA. I picture several of the boosters in a room when his name is mentioned and a Civil War breaking out. I just don't see it.

I'm prepared for a complete surprise.
