The lack of QB development showed up big time when KJ wasn’t in. Plus KJ doing his freak athlete stuff that made the chains move when they shouldn’t have and improved our total offense.

The Florida State offense in 2019 under Briles wasn’t exactly lighting it up either, they finished 6-7 and 102nd in total offense. Wonder if Pittman (and fans) liked the idea of a Briles offense initially to hire him, but reality of his lack of substance caused not really trying to keep him.

It really seems Briles is living off his dad’s offensive reputation, without any real substance to his own abilities.

I wonder if both he and Odom were encouraged to seek employment elsewhere.

I’m not sad to lose either. Both were predictable.

Any real substance? Briles had top offenses the last two years. They weren't perfect but no offense is.

I hate how every fanbase starts trashing coaches that leave, regardless of how good they were. Briles did a good job here. KJ bailed out the offense sometimes? Good players do that for their teams. It's not a knock on Briles.

Sure with KJ and his Superman impersonations

But without KJ……..

It’ll be interesting to see how he does at TCU without a Superman QB, he didn’t have one at FSU. I wouldn’t complain if KB stayed primarily for continuity and recruiting, but I’m not crying that he’s leaving. Calling a spade a spade, he left a lot to be desired in areas he was being paid well to develop.

But you also said he wasn't leaving, right?

Not trying to be a jerk here.. But improve our Oline, Which with Pitt should not have been as big of an issue. I am not a fan of our current Oline coach... With an improved Oline, and Defense, then get Pittman to lay off of the "Milk the clock" ideas way too soon and it is even better.

Briles is a good coach man. And I wanted to cry at first. But Enos makes it much better. Proud pittboss proved me wrong in this instance.

Right, because I don’t trust sources. The Briles to Miami and Mississippi State tease/fiasco gave me a healthy dose of doubt.

But improve our Oline

Improving our oline would help any OC. Might as well improve it for one that can develop QB’s and possibly do better at working around a lacking OL.

No way.

All the Briles stuff in regards to State could’ve wrecked the recruiting class…All the Briles stuff in regards to TCU could hinder the portal class…luckily the portal closed at midnight.

Quick hire of Enos is because Sam knows that in regards to portal now.
