I would be less surprised to see them wait out Freeze's show cause with Luke and rehire him before making another run at Norvell.

I was a Norvell guy over Chad too, but the fact of the matter is that he has so many skeletons in the closet he's been "passed over by almost 10 coaching searches over the last 2 years."
He can't get approved for some reason, one would assume some of the rumors are true and there's others out there we aren't privy to. We took a long look at him and I've heard we preferred him over Chad until more was uncovered.
In other words, that dog don't hunt. I wish we would just take the risk sometime and say screw the haters.

So, realistically, what is it that's in Norvell's past?
The only think I can think of that would scare that many ADs off is some Art Briles type shite. If he banged a couple co-eds, that's not good, but is it enough to make him absolutely untouchable?
I spoke to a guy the other day who said he has lots of skeletons, but wouldn't say what they were.

A drug problem (not weed), Bert-style nights out on the town, and definite philandering with "younger" women, assumed to be students. I've also heard (but not as prominently) that he lets his players get away with as much or more.
He supposedly walks a VERY fine line between what is acceptable to the Tiger High brass and what isn't acceptable, and constantly pushes his luck. If he wasn't winning his leash would be MUCH shorter and be would've been gone a long time ago, at least as long as he flies under the radar (relatively).
He's teetering on the edge at Memphis even; a provable allegation or arrest would be the end, as the floodgates would then open. Imagine a Petrino motorcycle-style incident happening but with potential drugs involved and a multitude of other stories coming out afterwards, which is the reason we (and several others) have passed.
