And does it make us a basketball school if we pay the basketball coach more than CCM?

I wish we would throw all our eggs in the basketball basket. It's a better sport.

Basketball is different IMO. Football we will get paid for just being in tSEC and going 2-10. Thats .166% winning. Everyone always talks about 20 wins in basketball for a good season and post season ticket.

Football also requires a lot more. More money to staff where as basketball doesnt demand that. If you look at Clemson, Dabo earns 6.2/yr and they spend 6.8 on assistants. And Dabo is at a .902 winning percentage over the last 5 years. They are top spenders, but their wins are pretty cheap when looking at it against other coaches. (Dabo winning 15 games last year, earning 6.2 and staff earning 6.8, each win costed them $413,666 - cheapest win cost out of top 10 paid coaches.)(Also, as a reference, Scott Frost is 10th highest paid coach and went 4-8 at 5M/Yr and staff cost of 4.5M/yr costing 1.25M per each win.)

Basically, if you want to win, you need to spend more money. We are not going to be winning a Natty anytime soon in football. We hired Chad to get the program back to where it should be - bowl eligibility. If he can do more than great, if not, we knew his salary wasnt going to get those wins - realistically.
