It's hard to rank a QB that throws accurate deep balls and has speed in the open field but too often fails to know when to chuck it and when to tuck it. Running backwards like a grade schooler. Misreading the option.

The high potential is there, though. Petrino made the same mistake my first wife did, thinking, "I can bring him around."

Green's big problem, and we have all seen it on display multiple times, is that he is a great front runner QB but implodes when the game is on the line. Better a game manager who doesn't screw things up (Brandon Allen was dependably dependable once he got the right coach) than a super athlete who melts down like Chernobyl when things get tough.

exactly. Not the guy I want making the throw with the game on the line. RPO, maybe..... but having to make the throw.... .nope... ain't gonna happen.

Are you KJ’s mom or something?

Imagine Tyler Wilson going to a g5 school and losing the starting job

Who went to the G5? UCF has been in the Big 12 since 2023...do you even follow college football? You are aware that KJ holds a chunk of Arkansas Qb records right?

Okay you’re right but modern b12 is basically g5

He holds like 2 because he played more games than anyone

Not really the past couple of years. KJ himself is a perfect example of why I’ve lost most my interest

It would have been easier just to say no you don't follow college football or did you realize KJ was the best Qb at Arkansas since Mallett then whatever that was you posted. At least that would have sounded smarter and been honest.

I said that so..

I follow Arkansas football. Kj couldn’t read a defense and played hero ball. His teammates hated him. He was carried by Burks and fell off a cliff when he left

Well that would be a lie. Both Wilson and BAllen were better. KJ would have been a hell of a tight end. He couldn’t beat out an NFL tight end in Franks for QB. He only owns records because he benefited from the sport changing to a more offense heavy sport in 2014/15… which is why Saban went out and got Lane then.

KJ wasn’t good, he wasn’t clutch. He couldn’t make intermediate throws. He couldn’t make timing throws. He either threw behind or at peoples feet. He benefited from Burks being all world one year.

Which leads me to believe you are either a boomer or 12 because you have no clue what you are talking about. And use very inane basic insults.

KJ was one of the reason Arkansas won the
20 games we won while he was here and why we competed and were in a number of games. He cost us a few wins too but nothing like Taylen.

Taylen is 9-12 and is responsible for at least half of those 12 loses and only 2 wins.

Not a lie at all its in the record book.

You don't have to like it but that's how it is.

You are comparing KJ and Taylen. I think both are trash and in the wrong position.

Your argument is winning games? 2 of those wins are unglorified scrimmages

He was 8-15 in SEC games as a starter.

Tyler Wilson was 9-7. Won more conference games while plays a full season less.

Brandon Allen started throughout the longest SEC losing streak in program history and still won 8 conference games in his career

Winner, winner, chicken dinner.

We ran a gimmick offense for KJ and that is fine... until teams adapt to your gimmick. Plus, for a behemoth of a QB he was miserable in short yardage situations.

The service academy style of get into 4th and short only works if you pick up 4th downs. We didn't do that reliable with KJ.

The crazy part is Brandon Allen and Tyler Wilson are closer to Tom Brady than KJ and Taylen are to Cam and Lamar…

The fair comparison is KJ and Green with Matt Jones. Jones, bless his stoned heart, had a lot of issues but with the game on the line you felt comfortable rolling the dice with him. He came up snake eyes a few times, but he also came up big.

I'm not saying Jones was a vastly more intelligent QB. I had classes with him. Albert Einstein he was not. But he didn't seize up under pressure. Amazing in everything but clutch time is how you lose a lot of games.
