Hey Stonehog!
You're my favorite poster on here.

Can you tell us what happened with Gus?

Glad to see why you have been so adamant about him.

Eh. I can spot a good coach when I see one.

Or, more aptly, when my friend fricking INSISTS he is the best. And he is in play. Two months ago.

'll just give you guys a quote from someone who's job it is to make coaching hires concerning Venables. Now this was a private Convo and you won't find it online.

you'll forgive me if I don't trust second degree hearsay about a coach. isn't that what got tenner in trouble?

My wifi isn't good enough to keep up with all this anyhow.

I just cant imagine how he hasn't been hired as a head guy. even as "selective" as he is lots of great openings the last couple years.

to me he's a guy who eill always be a DC

You're free to your opinion.

Wonder how many Georgia fans thought the same about Kirby Smart.

venerables is older than smart though by half a decade. he's closing in on 50.

by the time smart is 46[venerables current age] he will be a well established headed coach.

venerable also has 0 NFL experience. actually if you put their resumes side by side smart looks much stronger even when he was just a DC.

Venables will have played for 7 national titles and won 3 after this season is finished. His resume is second to none.

His resume is second to anyone that has had a successful season as a HEAD coach.

Thankfully the folks who make these decisions don't have such a narrow field of view.

Your lucky, most of my friends were all on the Gus Bus. I finally stopped discussing this with them.

Nonsense

I told this board 2 months ago to watch for Venables.
I also told this board we were on Strong.
And I told this board straight-the-frick-away that Gus had zero chance.

Those are all really going out on a limb

I know very few people that actually thought Gus was going to come to Arkansas.

Charlie Strong is mentioned anytime there is an opening at Arkansas.

Before the season even started, David Bazzel said if things go south watch for Vanables

Hmm. Good for him I guess.

Nobody, especially Rev, can deny I told him we were talking to Strong. "Multiple sources confirm we haven't contacted Strong."

It’s gonna be an offense guy. If you look into the candidates that Yurachek was interviewing at Houston, they are all offensive guys. If he has a say in the hire, it will be an offensive minded guy for the Head Coach.

Where's our resident insiders at?

Y'all should take note that Hawgeye, Dale, BB and those types disappear when I start dropping stuff.
