He was then but got carted off against vandy back in 2010. He returned in 2011 but never fully recovered. He was close to being fully healed when he got drafted. Then he got hurt again and football was over.

Childs health issues and Knile Davis out for the year cost Arkansas an SEC title in 2011.

100% agree with this. Those two players healthy would have made us a completely different team.

I could be wrong but didn't we get our brains beat in by both Alabama and LSU? LSU after being up 14-0

Correct. We couldn’t run the ball and were extremely one dimensional on offense. Being able to run the ball and having a physical receiver in Childs would have done wonders. See the 2010 games against both those teams.

In 2010 we had a better D and Mallett... We were never in the game vs Bama after the first quarter and LSU destroyed us after getting up early

We were so one dimensional in 2011 though which is what I’m basing my thoughts off of. Knife was 1st team all-SEC good before he got hurt and would have changed the dynamic of that offense.

Defense was the same as they returned a lot of juniors and seniors. Wilson was a drop off from Mallet. Didn't have enough zip on the ball, couldn't stretch the field as good and wasn't as good of a decision maker. As Arkansas didn't a running game that could put them in 3rd and short situations. Instead 3rd and 13 and they brought the blitzes.

We were in both games. I remember Bama was going to kick a field goal before the half but it was a fake and scored the TD instead. LSU was close until the fourth quarter as we couldn't run the ball. Like Bama they teed off on Wilson.

He lead the SEC in rushing in 2010 but only played half the season. Arkansas doesn't win 10 games that year without him. The SEC had more parity that year than 2011. That team is better with Davis than the 2011 team that only had Dennis Johnson which he is ok but not the threat Davis was.
