Transfer portal question regarding football

I wonder why chad hasn’t chased guys in the transfer portal at key positions such as linebacker and oline the way muss has in basketball? I know we went after starker and Hicks which was big but I know ole miss had a couple backers transfer as well as Clemson. Did he go after some and we just didn’t hear about it or does he feel confident in our linebackers and oline heading into next year? Seems with the portal now it’s a lot easier to flip a team over especially if you have big holes but only at a couple key positions which is basically where we are at

IMHO if you try to get too much of a team through the portal, you end up with the same problem you have now.in a season or two, and a whole lot less forgiving fanbase by that point. Much like that happened with Anderson. But even beyond that, there is just much less quality football talent available as a whole.

From what I’ve read on the 247 board we’ve been on/ looking at everyone in the portal. Chad said he won’t take a body just to take somebody. Top linebackers we didn’t get, there were some we could’ve gotten but Chad didn’t view them as upgrades or worth a scholarship
