I thought you were an aggie fan?

Even though he doesn't have the recruiting ties we might like, I think Scott Frost would be a home run hire.
I honestly think that, in the social media era, recruiting ties are vastly overrated. Everybody is connected to everybody now...there's no need to have an "in" with some kid's high school coach, uncle, etc.

For some reason I thought the same, but now feel like I remember him being a hog fan.

Frank Wilson with Les Miles as OL coach.

No on all of them.
It will be someone within the "Razorback" family this time.
Then we'd be limiting ourselves tremendously. The only options would be Dowell Loggains and Rhett Lashlee. No to both.
I'm hoping we don't overreact to bringing in an "outsider" like Bert and it failing. Bert's problem was that he came in and didn't know a thing about our program and seemingly didn't care to, and he refused to adapt until he was getting his teeth kicked in and it was too late.
Though it's not a must, you almost have to get someone with southern roots who either knows or respects the SEC. Bert thought that running roughshod over the Big Ten would translate to the SEC, and he completely underestimated the athleticism and cutthroat nature of this league.

Unless you consider Gus or Lane Kiffin to be "Razorback family" then it won't be a former player/graduate or former assistant.

Talked with a BM donor today, seems like Skip Holtz has been getting a lot of chatter among the BM donors as a potential HC.
Can't say that I'd hate the hire since he gave Bert all he wanted with lesser talent and facilities.

Ohhh Lord...
Retread, Rebrand, Re_ _ _ _!
ECU did fairly well, from there he went off of a cliff... now, not shabby... but I don't think he can hang with the SEC.
A quick thought though, Anyone else remember the poor ECU kicker that couldn't hit a FG all night, this after being money all season and being considered one of the best. Liberty Bowl, 1st one with Petrino. He was kicking into the net right below our seats. We hassled the poor kid right out of the stadium. Told him he as Arkansas best player.

That seems to be a trend with lil' Holtz's teams.....at least against Arkansas.
Same crap happened last season against La Tech. Some of our fans were razzing La Tech's kickers at halftime. Sarcastically cheering when they made a kick. Later in the game, with a chance to ice the game, the kicker pulls a Hedlund and boinks the kick off the upright.
Skip also had a chance to beat South Carolina this season but let them comeback to win it in the 4th qtr.

Coldest game of my life

Yeah, that's a hard pass on Skip for me. 13 years and the dude has never won 10 games in a season. Might as well just keep Bret for another year if that's the route we are going to go.

Yeah why anyone would even remotely consider Skip Holtz is beyond me. There is zero reason to fire Bielema, if that's the route you're going to go.

The donor I spoke with said that Skip has done more than Bert with less. A few of them are leaning his way from what he says.
Don't shoot the messenger.

Well that's simply not true, career wise.
shite boys, break out the checkbook!
Dude wouldn't even be getting a look if it wasn't for his last name. However, like you said, I won't shoot the messenger. Keep messaging, messenger.

I seriously question how some of these folks have been succesful in life, if they think Skip Holtz would be the answer to all of our problems.
Posted on 10/11/17 at 9:31 am to TheCheshireHog
Skip holtz failed miserable at usf. He lost to mcneese state at home.

Some guys are just better off at small schools, certain conferences, or as coordinators. We have to be careful that the guy we hire can succeed as a head coach in the sec.
