Texas pitching change to start the 9th.

You haven't been watching if you think Martin is the only one having lapses defensively. Outfielders going to the wrong cutoffs allowing runners to advance, pitchers going for low percentage plays, Nesbit not applying a tag thinking a force was on at 3rd with only one baserunner, cutoff men allowing extra bases due to the inability to keep the ball in front of them multiple times. The only difference now is that we are playing teams that are good enough to punish us for these mistakes. They've been happening all year. Saying this team is not playing to their billing and has stuff they need to work on is 100% accurate and it's stupid to contest that.

I’ve watched every fricking game... EVERY ONE. That is shite that gets lined out as the season goes on. You do realize it rained 20+ days in January, right? They didn’t get a ton of time outside
That shite was on Kopps, not Nesbit. The runner was going to be safe either way. For you to even mention Nesbitt’s name when worrying about defense shows that you are in full on melt mode.

You denying he completely lapsed defensively and thought it was a force out with 1 runner shows you're in denial. Saying the team isn't as good as their ranking right now and that they have things to work on is in no way melting. It's stating facts. Get your heart off your sleeve.

You do realize that if he would have tried to tag the guy he still would have been safe, right? That play was on Kopps.
On top of that 1 mental mistake does not make a person a defensive liability

And that changes nothing about Nesbit's mindset during that play.
Yeah you're way too emotional. I haven't singled out anyone as a defensive liability other than Martin. I said we've had multiple defensive lapses from multiple people already this year.

Here's hoping we can put together at least one clean game this weekend tomorrow.

It’s just stupid to harp on that one play when your criticism is on the defense as a whole.
If you want to pass blame tonight, put it on DVH for bringing in Denton. He has no business pitching in a weekend unless he’s the last option left

I didn't harp on that one play. It was one example included in a list of other issues. You're crying about it like Nesbit is your son. Chill out.
He's also responsible for a couple of balls getting by him as a cutoff man allowing runners to move up. Quit acting like he's above criticism. We've been sloppy defensively as a whole.

I just think it’s silly to call out the second best defensive player on the team for a “mental mistake” that didn’t have any impact on the game
I never said that they weren’t sloppy on defense. I just expect to see some of this when outside time has been limited and they haven’t been playing midweek games. I certainly haven’t see anything that looks like “serious issues” (aside from Casey Martin)

They don't have to have an immediate impact to be worth noting. If it happens once it can happen again in a situation where it does have an impact in a much bigger game than Gonzaga. My whole point is that mistakes have been far too frequent to be comfortable with where this team is right now and that adjustments need to be made both at the plate and in the field. I'm not screaming from the rooftops that we're not gonna host a regional or that we need to fire everybody. What I'm saying is we aren't playing good baseball and there are issues that need addressed. I've been at this for a while. I know this isn't the form we're going to be in all season. That doesn't mean we can't talk about the issues currently at hand. There are definite causes for immediate concern. Top end pitching being one, the inability to put together consistent clean games defensively, our struggles with seeing and accurately reading good offspeed pitches, and Martin's performance as a whole. Practice time will fix some of these issues, but not all of them.
