I'd say I trust Hunter, but I also trust those around him to muddy the water as much as humanly possible.
I fully trust Arkansas media to throw out names of people that were nice to them and gave them interviews. Like fat frick Irwin did with Sam.

I guess that's kinda my point. We run the ball on 2nd and 13 when most teams would pass it, and we also run, run, run inside the redzone conservatively and end up settling for a field goal, even under Briles.
I have been saying that for at least 3 years. Sam is meddling. He is ruining the flow of the pay callers. He wants to show he can push people around, but we haven’t and we can’t.

I do agree about Pittman, though. Looking purely at numbers and results, I wouldn't be so done with him if it weren't for how the team actually looked on the field this year. That's been the killer more than any binary win/loss result to me.
I would careless in the losses if you couldn’t see the collapse coming a mile out, like a battleship.

Just food for thought.

Are you implying our quarterback can’t do accurate or timing passes?

I think the idea of KJ having to throw intermediate passes in quick progressions on a shortened field with even tighter windows is nightmare fuel for any OC.
It plays directly into all of his biggest weaknesses as a QB and is exactly why we see things like him throwing the ball into the 4th row with a guy standing by himself in the back of the endzone.

The amount of retreads some posters would be okay hiring is astonishing.
I don't want an "established" coach. I want someone who is hungry and borderline obsessed with winning to the point its detrimental to his health.

Herman? Hell no. I could give two rips about a Texas reject who believes he is the smartest person in the room.
Sounds vaguely familiar.
Oh yes…I remember it now from our fanbase…

Herman is literally a member of Mensa. He legit believes he is the smartest person in the room.

Whelp, he probably is! I don't give a crap what he thinks, as long as he recruits well, and wins.
His players loved him at Houston..

He wasnt even there two full seasons.
He failed at Texas and players hated him there along with all of the boosters. No need to stoop to the level of hiring someone that is a used whore from Texas.

The guy wins. What he does outside of that doesn’t concern me in the least.

I like this train of thought but I also believe guys like Cignetti and Liepold who have had unbelievable success at lower levels probably have that same drive but they also have a tremendous amount of game and management experience, too, which was and is clearly Sam's biggest issue.
I just don't know if Hunter will look at another 60+ yr old coach, although Saban has obviously blown the age factor out of the water.

He was 32-18 and was 4-0 in bowls. We have vastly different definitions of failed.

He was fired. I guess we do. Being fired is sure on my list of failures. Especially at a place like Texas, that has all the resources needed for a coach to succeed and playing in the Big 12 when he did.

Ohhh No! gasp at the thought, Because we have absolutely been way too good, excelled to the extinct that we surely wouldn't want to stoop to hiring anyone who coached at Texass...
Dude... We haven't earned the right to such extreme prejudice in our hopeful future.

Everyone fails at Texas because they don’t have a strong AD. 1 coach can’t suck off every booster, recruit and coach. Not one AD has took on the boosters for the coach. Those oil money, all hat no cattle boys want to dick measure. The last coach to be able to do that was Mack. They need an AD to take some arrows.
We don’t expect that much. Bobby was/is a total count of a person. Let’s make believe like he would have held it together, if he kept winning without recruiting boosters would have thrown money at him and he refused to meet with most of them.

So was Lane Kiffin at USC. I think we’d all hire him tomorrow, if we could.

Without naming a person, I want a coach who:
- looks like he could win in a fist fight
- is annoyed by dumb questions
- will out recruit everybody
- doesn’t have the poor ol Arkansas mentality
- could do some of the workouts he requires
All those things could be said about Musselman, Van Horn or even Nick Saban. I’m not saying get Nick Saban, but there has to be an up and comer with those attributes.
None of those could be applied to Sam, Bert, John L, or Chad.

Why wouldn't we look at Craig Bohl?
