Neat article on Fayetteville Flyer today about their recent Facebook survey (real official) in which they polled Fayetteville citizens on the restaurants they missed that are no longer with us.

I'm only 29, but there are some good ones on there even I remember from my days at U of A (Hoffbrau, Casa Taco), and others that are out of business but still have a building (Brenda's Bigger Burger). There are also some chains on there, but all in all it's a good list.

Investing in a restaurant is among the worst investments a person can make. They go in and out of business very fast.

Signed Pro Athletes every where.
Is the minute man still open in LR?
Wasn't that suppose to have been on the first fast food burger joints and originally based in Arkansas?

Some good ones on there. Too young to know a lot though. Shanghai used to be one of my favorites and it seems exactly the same today (Formosa).

I miss Fuzzy's, Jalapeno strips and the coldest beer in town.

Steak and egg burrito and an order of queso. My standard late night drunk order in college.

Restaurants and clubs are two kinds of businesses that can open and close quickly. Maybe they will do one on Fayetteville clubs sometime.
As to the restaurants I remember going to Godfather's Pizza and it was a popular place--they used to do a lot of advertising it seemed and really catered to the college crowd.
The Minute Man was on N. College where Maple joins it (think a Papa John's is there now) and I honestly don't remember going to that one much although I liked the chain for sure. I was a regular at the one in Downtown LR and bought many lunches there. The only one of which I am aware that is still around is one in El Dorado.
Casa Taco was certainly a staple. I was a big customer so much so that I used to get free cheese dips and such from time to time. In addition to the Fayetteville location there was one in Springdale for awhile. On the original N. Garland location across from Harp's there was a business split of sorts at one point and one version of it became Taco Casita and another was called something else in the same shopping center (Oak Plaza). Then later on the newer version went out of business and you had the original building nearby become Marlo's Taco Shack, same cuisine. Not that long ago it became housed in two buildings with the drive through remaining in the original building and the dine in place next door in what used to be the Old Mr. Burger building decades ago.

LOL this is almost the same as my go-to breakfast quesadillas and cheese dip.
They finally quit delivery to our house b/c we kept ordering and passing out before it got there and no one would wake up to answer the door

Fuzzy's did have cold beer. It is missed. I lived at College Park for a while and it was within walking distance.

A friend of a friend is talking about opening up a burger joint somewhere near campus, he was asking for name ideas and I submitted "Bert's Burgers".
So if it comes to be, you know where it came from.

Off that list I'd say Hoffbrau is the one place that should've never went out of business. Place used to be awesome. There and Café Sante Fe were the shite back when I first moved to Fayetteville.
Also, how is there not a DQ in Fay? Place would kill on MLK or College IMO

Russvegas seems to be a parting line for DQ and Braums.
You won't find a Braums east of there or a DQ west.

Honestly there's a lot of ok burger places in Fayetteville, but besides Hugo's there's not a great burger. Feltners are probably my second favorite, but could easily be replaced if someone would do it right.
Deluxe Burger is super meh

Also reading that list I was kinda sad to not see AQ on it.

There's a DQ in Lowell and the one in Bella Vista is always packed. I usually stop there and eat if I'm passing through

Chesh you ever eat at Grad School in Springfield? They seriously have one of the best burgers I've ever had I think
