This was my first thought.

Think about that.....now think about trying to find another job or think about trying to pay rent because you hit on your trainer at a job you've had for two weeks.....she went straight to HR

Yep.

Also, if you do decide to go against what I just posted, you put the ball in her court........

I agree.

Example of small talk....."Man I really like it up here, I just wish I knew more people I could go have a few drinks with and knew some folks who could show me some chill spots."

Oh, you're good.

Her answer to something similar to that will tell you all you need to know....this puts it all on her....she would be asking you to do something...she would be doing the HR "no no" per say.

Exactly.

Drewbie, just listen to Hawgeye, and good luck ...

I guess.

Oh dear lawd, Drewbie. Just go ahead and give her the D and then send her packing after she cleans up.

As with all of these women, you run your show and never, ever let them have any control over the situation.

Hawgeye is right about getting you a good circle of friends, BUT.... doesn't mean you can't be slump busting while you are building this foundation.

Its always good to have a core group of de'womenz when you need that hit. Just be the one that calls in the hit, and not let yourself be the one that's being called in.

No dinners, no dates, just the booty call. That's the rules.

I could light her up with HR if I wanted to. She's already done plenty enough to get herself in trouble. But it's not worth it. It's not like this is West Plains and she's the only attractive girl for 20 miles.

You're right. Probably not a good idea to go to HR at this point. You don't want to be labeled "Newbie Drewbie, the Snitch" right off the bat.

I would never do it. It doesn't bother me. What does bother me is the hidden red tape at the workplace. They covered NONE of this in 2 weeks of orientation.

Young Drewbie Son,

get to know that red tape is everywhere, then hate it, conquer it, use it, and then count yo stacks.

Welcome to the real working world.
Unfortunate, but true. You'll find many things of this nature in the many, many years to come in your career. My advice is pick your battles carefully, don't sweat the small stuff, don't take work home with you, try to adjust, quickly, and learn to tune out the bullshite. You will be much, much happier and saner.
Oh, and maybe have one of your goals be to own something ... anything ...so you can make your own rules. Strive to be your own boss as quickly as possible. Work is truly much more enjoyable that way.

Owning business line you just posted.....for the birds

I've been so frustrated the last two days I contemplated selling it all, moving to the Midwest and becoming a farmer.

Why? Because I think that dodge truck farmer commercial is the tits..... God made a farmer

Hell yeah! Frick working for the man, unless you are bored with what is making you the real money.

Yes, but I've owned something else much longer with a large contract.

I just get worn down from the stress sometimes.

Yeah, I figured as much. Just wasn't sure if you purchased the tanning bed business.

So, would you change being an entrepreneur (I assume most of your adult life) to working for a company for that same period?

Nooooo!!! Although often frustrating, the beauty of owning your business is that it's yours to sell, if you wish, whenever you wish.

Owning stuff = Freedom. Fact.

No crappy bosses, doctrines, bullshite philosophies, etc. (at least for you as the owner there's not, might be a different story for your employees. ) j/k
And if you do become a farmer, you'll own the farm. You'll still be your own boss.
Overall, being an owner is the best position in most cases.

There are times, I'd love to draw a check with someone and not have to worry with doing any taxes with that money until one time out of the year.

There are times, when I'd love to be at home and actually leave work at work....unfortunately, calls go on til almost midnight some days.

I totally understand having to write that check for quarterly taxes, but I would never change the choice of being an entrepreneur at the age of 26.

I'm in a position (while in my 40's) to work for myself, work for the man, or do both. Guess I could retire, but I love money too much.

Just don't see how I would have ever been in my position (unless I was the Pres or CEO) if I worked for a company up until now.
