Those were fun. It wasn't that the Twisters were doing bad, they always had a pretty good crowd in the early years (averaged 13,000 the first year), the league just didn't do too well overall. I think they moved us down to AFL 2 and that kind of took some of the luster off of it and crowd gradually went down too, IIRC.

Looks like it's going the way of the AAFL. Announce season then move it 4 years in a row and give up.

I knew a guy who played on that team as well. It merged into oblivion.

No, The D-league is affiliated with NBA teams and league.
The closest the NFL has ever had was NFL Europe.
