If it's not that big of an accomplishment why hasn't any other school done it?

Go ask a&m if they would trade their baseball season for ours, ask them if they would have liked for their softball team to make it out of a regional. Season long success should never be de-valued. Obviously it would be great to win championships, I'm just saying we're more than just relevant. We're actually a quite successful athletic program, overall.

I don't mean to denigrate a good season, and I don't just expect championships or bust. But our upside in baseball and the way the baseball postseason is set up means success gets graded a bit differently than basketball and football, and I do think that needs to be taken into heavy consideration when judging a season.

Getting into a Regional as an SEC team isn't hard. 13/16 teams are going this year. Two of them have losing conference records, two of them are .500. Kentucky is 29–24 overall. But unlike basketball and football, the best teams get to host their Regional and Super Regional. And for a team like Arkansas, our home field advantage is massive. Our park has the second highest capacity in the nation and we show up to prove it. We almost never lose a home series, and if we have an off game, it's not single elimination, we get a second shot.

Most of the time we're good enough to host a Regional, we've been top five most of the year - usually #1 for some period of time. We should generally make it far enough to go two-and-queue early out at the CWS. We all know baseball is volatile, so when stuff like the 2021 Supers happen, well, that's the beauty and the ugly of it. The 2023 Regionals? TCU had our number in a weird way that year and we were just not beating them. 2024? Absolutely no excuse, especially considering it just happened the year prior. Making the final eight in baseball when you end the regular season in the top ten isn't the same task as basketball.

And for football, I don't care, man. I'm not celebrating 6–6 and I won't be talked into it. Going 4–4 in conference and winning 3/4 of the non-cons puts us at a basement of 7–5. Realistically, we should win every non-con on the years we don't schedule a good P4 team instead of a bottom feeder - which is almost never. If we can't win half of our conference games and beat G5s/teams that won't be to to bowl games, then what the frick are we doing here? Wake me up when they decide to get serious.

Other schools are busy going to NY 6 bowls, winning SEC championships and consistently make a run in Omaha.

Our administration just finds enough preseason carrots to dangle in front of fans to sell tickets and false hopes. And of course it seems to work for the most part.

As corporations gobble up tickets and the common fans are asked for astronomical donations to retain their season tickets, the product on the field remains the same.

With over 60 years of fandom under my belt it really doesn't bother me much, and at times it's even comical.

That’s so fricking sad what’s the excuse for being out recruited by sun belt teams? Is it big bad Missouri and ole miss’s fault that we just can’t recruit with the likes of app state?

I'll end with this, I guess my main point is that at least when post season play came around this season all 4 of the big programs were in it. I can remember that not being the case and I just thought that in itself was at least something. It's not the ultimate goal I understand but it's better than not being in it. I'm my opinion.

Dude, agreed!

It's better than being in the crapper constantly in all sports.

It's just that It is time for football to turn the corner, so to speak and do another 9-10 win season soonish... and for another to win a NC other than T&F!

Yeah rev, we’ve done it so often in our history that there’s no reason we can’t do more frequently….haha.

again.. why is it time for another NC other than T&F outside of football? Football has won 50% of the major national championships Arkansas has ever won in men’s and women’s sports .

I object.

Football sucks so bad I don't even think about it unless it's game day and half the time I don't even watch. My life is much more enjoyable.

Men's Basketball, Baseball, and Softball I still care about and keep up with / watch. I'd love for those emotions of being let down to turn more into what I have for the football team.
