that would be fine but i hope next year we keep the staff as is (if things go well that is). i think some continuity would be a good thing.

seriously. At this rate, Pittman and Robb Smith may be the only holdovers from last year.

I wonder if this is at least in part because of Enos coming in and wanting his own offensive support staff

continuity is vastly overrated by fans

we need to cut the dead weight and get better recruiters at both RB and WR coaches

the only way I think this could be turned into a negative is with the media overall.

The comments CBB Made about "Not being able to retain assistants" at Wisky will be used against him a lot if this trend continues in the future. And Continuity is very important to the players, recruits, and High School coaches we are attempting to maintain relationships with.

what if I told you we weren't in good standing with any bigtime 2016 RB's when Thomas left.. would that change your mind about maintain relationships?

Bielema has been able to keep the assistants he wants other than Partridge who wanted to be a HC. They have offered more years and money to the ones he thinks are important.

In regards to staff continuity, here is a great tweet that just came across my timeline. I think most fans don't realize that this stuff is happening at every school and not just their own.

@john_shinn: Average tenure for a college football assistant coach is 2 1/2 years. Recruits have to look beyond relationship with the position coach.

2 1/2 years is very surprising. maybe i'm just greedy i guess now since all the petrino, jlsmith crap we've been through i just want to not have to worry about the staff.

Also look at the impact that Robb Smith/Jennings made after being hired.

Look at the impact TCU's offensive staff made after being hired last offseason.

Continuity doesn't matter at all anymore unless top notch coordinators and play callers. Would be ideal to have them stay for at least 2 or 3 years.

As long as we keep Sam Pittman and our defensive coaches as long as possible I'll be happy. Hope our new offensive coaches have us saying the same thing about them.

Honestly though how Bielema handles his assistants is a breath of fresh air compared to how Petrino or Nutt handled them.

Nutt had great continuity with his staff.

Frank Broyles did not.

Continuity is vastly over-rated.

yep, Nutt had continuity because no one wanted to hire his assistants

Petrino has had good continuity with his staffs.

I believe all saw, most figured out, why when JLS took over as HC.

Saban has had poor continuity with his staff.

same thing with Mike Anderson's assistants

he needs to upgrade to help us in recruiting (his weakness) but won't

LOL.

He and his staff have recruited one bust in four years.

One.

I actually like Michael Smith and thought he has done a decent job recruiting for us.
