Channel 7 used to be the absolute best in the state when it came to their on air people. They've continued to lose the vast majority of their good people. Not sure what's going on.

Go woke go broke
When the the back to the 70’s thing went down they were done. I suspect more will continue to leave as their contracts expire.

KATV is owned by Sinclair, who is very much not a “woke” corporation.

Possibly the least woke corporation out there not named Hobby Lobby.

Must be a tallest midget situation. I’ve spoken to Ned Perme and he confirmed most of the personalities there aren’t happy and are looking for an exit strategy. He told me not to be surprised if Barry Brandt left next who is reportedly very unhappy there

Nothing says an Arkansas Christmas like Ned's spray on tanned self playing the piano on air.

Somebody at KATV is
quote:
Two white news anchors in Arkansas have been suspended and their boss has been fired after they donned afro wigs in an on-air segment to celebrate the end of a heatwave as temperatures drppped into the 70s.
quote:
Sinclair Broadcast Group, which owns the station, fired its longtime news director Nick Genty, and indefinitely suspended May and Brandt.
quote:
'It was determined through our investigation into the recent events at KATV that swift action was important to hold the responsible parties accountable. 'We are also implementing further training for sensitivity and workplace conduct, in line with our commitment to ensuring events like this don’t happen again. Soon after the segment aired, the Arkansas Times reports, local activist Anika Whitfield complained to KATV management, saying she was 'not amused' by the segment and that a white person wearing an afro wig is a perpetuation of 'systemic racism.'

Back in the 70's and 80's channel 7 was the leader in news and sports coverage. With the tallest tower in Arkansas they reached farther out into rural Arkansas than any of their competitors.
With that being said, go woke, go broke frickers

Can anybody imagine caring about local news stations in the year of our Lord 2022?

Can anyone imagine being so saturated in the Fox News culture war mentality that you think the LOCAL NEWS is a “woke” institution?
It’s gotta be exhausting.
