We'll see. I don't believe our pay guys for anything. I don't have any info on the AD search.

Well, Biddy is a damn moron. He has been wrong about damn near everything he's ever said. Didn't he report it was a done deal that Barford and Macon were leaving early?

Lol

My understanding, straight from a member of the Long family, is that Jeff got fired for pulling the games from Little Rock. There were other factors, obviously, but that was the rallying point for the coalition who got rid of him.

That and the stadium expansion stuff.

Whatever he did it pissed some folks off something fierce.

I love how we bend to the will of a family that never attended the University, have paid for naming rights and facilities at the universities their family has attended, and paid for ULAR to have a new facility during the last hissy fit thrown by them.

All so they can give out a few hundred tickets for the games they don't attend.

Assuming he didn't unequivocally support Bert, firing Jeff Long really was dumb as frick.

Nearly positive he'd have made a pretty stellar hire, on paper at least.

Doing both of these searches at once and not thinking about the implications was monumentally stupid and SOOO Arkansas.

The "Jeff wouldn't fire Bert" narrative is convenient as everyone was ready for Bert to go.

Sounds better than "Jeff is trying to bring us into the modern times so he gotta go".

Better hire JCP permanently and circle the wagons.

And probably asked the same question about the lame arse "banker" family.

Muni bonds are so cool, and our biggest claim to fame is the shitty dome in NOLA.

A swing and a miss by the search committee

Nice pitch

He deserved to be fired for the extension and enormous buyout he gave Bert.

If you delve into the numbers, aside from the SEC network revenue (which would come in regardless of who the AD is), growth has been flat.

Bert was not a good hire, and anyone that took an honest look at the Arkansas program (and knows the slightest about football) could have seen it. He is as anti tempo/spread as they come and was brought into a school that’s recruiting base consists of 90%+ spread/tempo high schools.

Hindsight is great and all because at the time everyone was in love with Bert and it seemed improbable that he was going to fail here.

Way too many non-affiliated people trying to use the Razorbacks as their play toy.

They need to realize that just because you are in the state of Arkansas doesn't mean you have a right to The University of Arkansas or the Razorbacks.

If they want football in wms then they need to put their funds behind last resort u and support the trojans.

They did and their basketball program is the same today as it was then.

Wait..... I remember people claiming that the trojans were taking over arkansas basketball. Are you telling me that losing to Ouachita Baptist is a bad thing?

Not if a person was looking objectively. His best win was against a team that lost 4 of their last 6 games.

As I said above, it was obvious from day one that Bert wasn’t a good fit for a team that’s recruiting base has gone almost entirely to the spread.

Long dropped the ball when he didn’t land Grundy when he had the chance.
