Is this anything to be worries about since a big part of his deal is his ability to recruit?

I think that's more of an SMU thing. It's a G5 program amidst P5 contenders such as Texas, Texas A&M, TCU, and Texas Tech. Then there's also fellow G5 teams Rice, Houston, Texas State, UTEP, North Texas, and UTSA. All in one state. And I may have even forgotten a couple.

SMU has been among the worst of them all since the NCAA shut them down. Recruiting may not improve under Morris, but I certainly expect him to be good enough to maintain the status quo.

When he took over SMU, there wasn't a single player from the state of TX. He then went and put an entire recruiting team made up of only TX players.

I'd say that's damn impressive.

Another consideration is, if I'm not mistaken admission standards are very high at smu. This would work for both of them obviously but point being, is he's been tasked at finding great athletes that are also fairly intelligent

Supposedly he's Mr Texas. I like hearing this because it seems like he has many connections (not just in TX), he's very well respected and it's been on major media about how this is our advantage for recruiting. He seems like a energetic guy who knows what his job is and the expectations. I think we will be fine.
