To save Jeffrey’s job with this next hire. They know they can’t put this hire in his hands again. They will make the call on who we get.

I think if it were up to them we would end up with Butch Davis.
I think Long will have a lot of say in the next hire, but doubtful he has the freedom to make the decision on his own.

I'd prefer we end up with a coach that statistically has more than 15 years left to live.
That goes for Bret too.

Yeah. I don't want Butch Davis. Haha

Tardvillle myth, if the boosters want someone, the boosters gets that someone, aka Mike Anderson

Our merry band of hillbilly billionaires ain't turning us into anything resembling Bama. Sorry.

Money talks. Always has, always will.
The program is all about money.
Every thing Jeff does is about money.

they'll hire Skip Holtz and start another Good Ole Boy Network up on the Hill.
That name is already being tossed around heavily from the boosters I know

Whew, good thing we're looking in to cutting off the AD that hired an NFL head coach and a 3-time Big 10 champ so the heavy hitters can really try to bring in quality like Skip Holtz.

I seriously doubt that the ‘Real Money Boosters’ want anything to do with Skip. There’s a history there.
Jeffrey may be looking at lil’ Skippy, but my money says he’ll never be the head Hog

I don't think it would be a bad hire. But I think they can do better. Skip Holtz is a good coach. His Eastern Carolina team took Ryan Mallet to the wire. I was impressed.

That would be an absolute abortion of a hire IMO. The guy is a retread with zero 10 win seasons in 13 years of coaching.
If he can't build East Carolina, La Tech, or South Florida into a 10 win team in a piss-ant conference, he sure ain't doing it here.
Might as well go out and see if Nutt would like to come back to coaching.

Like I said, I think they can do better. Haha. And surely they will. "Boosters" may be saying Skip Holtz, but highly highly doubtful that happens.

I don’t necessarily disagree and have mentioned as much before, but our problem is that our GOBN largely doesn’t know jack shite about football as evidenced by the fact that different contingents are white knighting for the likes of Skip Holtz and Malzahn (throw Butch in there for old times sake).
Good GOBNs hold ADs accountable. Our GOBN overrides Broyles and hires Houston Nutt.
Good GOBNs demand excellence. Our GOBN keeps Nutt half a decade too long.
Good GOBNs give their AD a blank check and tell him to go hire [insert good coach] and don’t come back without him. Our GOBN tells the AD to go hire their golfing buddy Butch Davis, or Skip Holtz because of his last name, or Gus Malzahn because muh Springdale ties.
Good GOBNs know the landscape of college football and the names and resumes of up and comers. Our GOBN has never watched a football game that didn’t have the Razorbacks playing in it and has no clue who people like Mike Norvell, Scott Frost, Chad Morris or Matt Campbell are.

He pretty much hit the nail on the head there with that one.

Pretty much this.
We have a GOBN that is just as happy losing with their golfing buddy in charge as they are winning with an outsider.
