Yes, but he was established at a big school not some under the radar guy.

He had already "established" himself as a good coach at an upper tier P5 team though. That is not the same thing as some of the guys mentioned here like Norvell, Campbell, Morris, and Frost. All 4, even Campbell with all of the praise he's getting, have yet to really establish themselves.

also, iswydt

"Establishing" one's self is apparently in the eyes of the beholder because I would put Campbell up there with Nick frickin Saban on my wish list.

yeah Campbell is awesome. I love that type of passing spread offense. Much better than Fuente, norvell, frost, etc. Campbell runs closer to what briles ran at Baylor and it is the offense every team in the country should be running. It is literally impossible to stop regardless of personnel with proper execution. Recruit 4 or 5 tall recievers and throw nothing but fades. They're always open because the dback can not physically go up and stop him from getting the ball. So simple but so good

Can you point out any coaches that have won championships with that type of offense?

Do you actually expect us to win a national championship?

I think the better question is if the offense is so great and easy to succeed with why doesn't more teams run it and why hasn't more teams achieved a high level of success with it.

Because other teams don't have coaches as good as Campbell is the short answer. You guys member when he took an undersized and lesser talented Toledo team and bullied Bielema's team around like it was his frickin job?

I don’t remember bullying, I remember us having 200 more total yards and still somehow losing the goddamn game. Still looking at the box score I don’t know how we lost, only 1 turnover.

He beat Bielema because he’s a better coach, also didnt have Kareem Hunt for that game or it could’ve been worse. Just saying statistically we dominated that game, kind of a fluke we lost but it happens.

I believe we went 1-5 in the redzone. It would have been a blowout going our way, if we had converted. Such a strange game.

I remember our quarterback taking a pounding in that game and/or running a lot. Because our on-line couldn't pick up their four man rush. Lol.

Not one thing has changed from then til now.
