Fake news
JL is in no danger of losing his job even though the GOBN has been calling for his head.
This is why we can't have nice things in Arkansas
Same people are begging for Gustavo.

See Rev's post... and there's plenty out there that would take a wellspoken coach with his history at Wisconsin and in the Midwest. It won't be a blueblood or anything, but some of the lower-tier P5 schools and mid-majors that don't put as much into their football program would probably love to have someone with his experience in a pinch. There's also NFL assistant spots he can land at and even some other BS admin positions if he's just biding his time.

I mean, I agree with you personally speaking. I don't understand why anyone would be calling for him to be fired; sure some things haven't gone according to plan but that's not unique to Jeff Long or UofA by any means.
We may not know the reason why or it could be BS reasoning, but he is certainly catching heat right now for something behind the scenes. For the record, I'm in the "NO WAY" it happens camp.

I'm trying to figure out the fire Jeff long angle. Either it is something behind the scenes, or his job was 100% tied to Bert.

The part about begging for his job behind the scenes for 1 more year with This group is another parallel to Ford. He did the exact same thing before being let go.

The only real landing spot I can see for him as a P5 HC is in the Big 10....west...and west only. Problem is that unless someone from one of those schools leaves for another job, he ain't going there, there just aren't the spots available.
Illinois is absolutely perfect for him, he could win 8 games a year for them playing a shite easy schedule and they'd be happy... He'd essentially lose to any Crossover games of any consequence with the East, OH St, Mich St, Penn St, and Mich would all clean his clock, those are teams with SEC type rosters and elite coaches....but Illinois fans would still be happy....only problem is the Albatross that is Lovie Smith.. I belive he has like a 14 or 16 million dollar buyout... Even with his 2 wins this yr he ain't getting fired.
If Illinois is out, that leaves Purdue (not happening unless Brohm leaves), Wisconsin... Not happening for obvious reasons... Iowa... Not happening unless Kurt F. Retires, Northwestern, not happening, bad fit anyway, and Nebraska...Which at this point in their program will not hire a guy who just got blown out the SEC with a .300 confernre record.
So where does he go? I say he takes his 50-plus million in the bank and moves to Boca or Miami or something for a year, maybe two with a possibility of doing some TV work for the likes CBS sports or something....but he's absolutely GOT to drop at least 70 or 80 lbs. One is health, but 2 is because he looks so huge on TV he couldn't pull off the talking head gig without it.
Besides coaching at some MAC school (which he probably doesn't want) , the only place I could see him going is like an O-line or D-line coach in the NFL.. That is if they'll have him. His specialty was supposed to be those exact two departments, but I honestly don't think he's done any position coaching since he's been a HC... He just stands around and yells when to go to the next drill. It's clear that he can't self evaluate either and damn I had an online as bad as his for 2 years and I was supposed to be this O-line Guru, I'd be coaching the position group myself every day in practice...hell Nick Saban still perosnally coaches the secondary a ton... I've seen a ton of clips front spring and practices and stuff and not once have I ever seen him get in a drill and take it over... Honestly I don't know if he's even capable of doing that.
The NFL schedule is also brutal... If all the rumors are true about him sleeping in meetings and being so lazy now, he wouldn't last 2 weeks on an NFL staff... Those guys are fricking lunatics and sleep in the office insane half the week.
In reality, I don't think there is landing spot for him, next year or possibly years after that as a major coach.. Maybe he becomes Nutt 2.0 and just stays in the TV business, never says anything if any note or critically of anyone, and still thinks somebody is going call. I know this though, he will never have to work again in his life eif he a doesn't want to... I just don't want him here ever again..

There are some people on the board who still don't like Jeff because of some things he did when he first got here 10 years ago. Now they have some real dirt on him. Neither side wants it to get messy though.

well duh... Unless someone, anyone can tell what the "real dirt" is to the rest of us. This is as useful as what I wrote..

Funneling money from the athletic department to the Razorback Foundation so it wouldn't be available for FOIA requests.

I have no problem with Long. He has done what an AD is supposed to do, build facilities, bring in money and hire coaches. BB didn't pan out, but I like that Long goes after good candidates. If he does as he has in the past he will hire a coach with good credentials and one nobody expects. I think Campbell is the best coach available and has those Ohio connections to Long, but who knows. Do not want a committee or the GOBN choosing the next one.

What's the play there? To make it look like we can't afford to fire Bielema? Lol.
I think Bielema should try to get on staff at one of the premier programs in the country. Even if he has to be employed as an analyst for chicken scratch. The truth is that the guy is a damn good coach. He just hasn't been able to build a roster from the ground up yet. He could use the time to see how it's done right and try to jump back on the horse 5 years or so down the road.
I wish him well. As soon as he leaves anyways. In the meantime I hate his guts. Lol

that's the ticket... a one way ticket... OUch, thanks for bringing it.
Does this have anything to do with the so called insurance policy as well?

Only thing I've heard in regards to Rawleigh is that his parents were paid a lot of money not to sue the university. It could have something to do with that.

Hmmm. Now, I am ignorant as to the laws, regulations, rules etc. Why does it matter to funnel funds from the AD to the Foundation? I am sure it is an ethical conundrum but is it also illegal etc? and FOI stuff. Did it hide the pay of coaches, or what exactly? I am fairly sure with the product on the field, it wasn't funneled to buy recruits.

The Foundation is separate from the university, so he allegedly moved state funds to a private nonprofit.

I don't know the specifics but I'm told it all has to do with the north end zone expansion.
