I was 5 when they blew it against the Padres, 10 when Will Clark decided to put up video game numbers, suffered through the nineties as a teen, thought my newlywed wife would leave me after seeing how angry I was in 03 and didn’t come down from the high of the WS in 16 for 3 weeks. I bleed cubbie blue and I love baseball because of it.

03 was my first big "This is what being a Cubs fan is" moment. I didn't make a sound for a good 3-4 hours after the game. Both my parents are huge Cardinals fans and I remember I couldn't stand the pity looks they gave me as the Cubs slowly Cubbed the lead away. Watching them go completely lifeless the few times they did make the playoffs all the times after that just slowly morphed me into what we all eventually become. Made two years ago so much sweeter. I'm not even sure the Razorbacks winning a natty in football would top that World Series. It would be close, but damn that was such a release.
