Can we please be a fricking normal team for once and name a for sure starter and only have the other play when the game is out or hand

We had that. Then people bitched for 4 years because they were Bobby Allen's sons and "nobody else got a chance"

Starkel took all the first team snaps in the scrimmage this weekend. Hicks will get the nod for the first series but Starkel is going to be your starter for the future.

This is a nod to Hicks for coming in to plug the gap for the spring and summer.

Yes. It's also 1 game of wear and tear that Starkel wont have. No reason to put the better guy out and chance anything.

We play Ole Miss in our second game. I would think we would want to get as much real game experience for the best player before that game. I don't know who that player is.

we expected this.

Most people expected Starkel to be named the starter. Not that it matters, but the reason this is a story and the reason some people are reacting negatively is because this is a surprise.

Yep, as you may or may not know... Rafe Peavey is waiting in the wings as Brady’s chosen replacement in New England. Shame he never got a shot!

I’m not concerned. Hicks knows the offense and had all spring to prepare. I still think Starkel starts very early on this season though, possibly as soon as Ole Miss. I’m just glad football is almost here.

I'm guessing Chad promised Ben the starting spot and has to at least make a token play.

You guys are hilarious... The only way that starkle ends up starting is by way of injury or Hicks somehow plays flat out terrible.

And I really hope that we aren't doing the two QB thing. If Hicks is playing well you leave him be.

Or a fresh QB? It's not like Starkel and or Hicks is inexperienced and going to gain something from 1 game against Portland State.

Watched Morris today and he explained his reasoning on his current decision. It actually makes sense to me.

It never hurts to get your qbs real game snaps with their teammates

Obviously, because he must be the better of the two right now

Like I said, your argument was weak.

Offense is about timing and we're only in the second year of this offense. I would want to get my qb the most experience possible. If our QB is banged up after one week vs an FCS team then we might want to just pack it up already.

You can keep arguing about this, but it wont change Hicks starting. Dont know why it's such a big deal to some of you.

I'm not arguing about Hicks starting. I was responding to your comment of resting a quarterback for the first week. I don't have a dog in the quarterback race
