and lost to Tennessee.

A team with superior talent to Arkansas that has depth, lost to the same Tennessee team we beat.

But injuries don't matter, it's all coaching, fire Bert

I agree. IF we keep playing better and win some games I want to keep him.

No more of this starting the season sucking after this season tho or I'm done. :)

Last night and the remainder of our schedule give me hope for he stretch run. 4-2, 5-1 and 6-0 are all definitely doable, depending on how our team responds.

One thing about Bert is that his teams always get better as the season progresses, and that's been evident every year he's been here and even as far back as Wisconsin.

The good thing is that we start playing more run-based offenses, and our run defense has been very good thus far. Auburn, State, LSU and even Mizzou are good matchups for us.

Overall I'm very happy with the defense the past two weeks, it's astronomical how they've progressed since a&m

Thats the main reason im on board with what Bilema is doing here. Those kids play hard every time regardless of the situation, thats the sign of a good coach. I refuse to give up on them until they show they have given up on him. Those upper classmen have been through shite through no fault of their own. They deserve respect and support, and they get that from me

I agree on the no more starting off like shite, but I also don't think we will start off like shite next season. I think this defense will have some carry over. we need to recruit more line backers. we need a new mike now and we need to start grooming him because brooks time is ending.

RBs get hurt. It's more of an inevitability than a surprise. It's not an excuse for losing to a MAC team

Well we are an SEC team. There is no excuse.

I've got nothing against Bert. I know some of you have this simple concept in your brains that anytime someone points out a negative, they're melting/unreasonable. The season, and the 2 before this, can give you a clear understanding of a coach's philosophy. Bert's is fine for the most part. Unfortunately, we play in the SEC. We kinda have to be perfect or we're Mississippi State. Bert hasn't shown me that he could win in a tough match up, provided we DID make it to Atlanta some year.

Point being that, sure, we CAN win and improve. Just don't think he can make that happen to the extent that we will be competitive for an SEC title. If his recruiting results/strategy were different or trending upwards, I'd probably be more optimistic.

nah they're top 25 because they're undefeated and people can see that they're a pretty good football team.

no amount of self degradation by hog fans can take away from that fact

Bert is a turd. But he is the turd we have.

We can't and we won't, fire him. We are, for better or for worse, stuck with him.

Bert is a prolapsed colon... but he is... God help us... our prolapsed colon.

Petrino's best class is still better than Bert's on paper. If we WERE recruiting as you suggest, we wouldn't be looking at Florida with jealousy in McElwain's first season. We wouldn't be 2-4. We wouldn't have lost at home to Texas fricking Tech, much less TOLEDO.

To expand, he's our colon, but if anyone points out he's prolapse they are losers, whining, dickheads, etc.

true. but the average is a better way to look at the data and not just an outlier

2008 36
2009 16
2010 49
2011 49
2012 34
average = 36.8

2013 27
2014 29
2015 25
average = 27

but really, lol @ petrino's outlier 2009 class. It's a who's who of players that didn't work out

what I suggest doesn't matter.

what does matter are the tangible numbers I listed above saying we're recruiting better than we ever have. and reality is the redshirt program being used on BB's recruiting classes takes more than 2 years to pay dividends.

There is no question that Bielema is recruiting better than Petrino. That's not even debatable. Unfortunately it's still at the bottom of the SEC.
