Yeah you can leave out the delusion part all you want, doesn't change how accurate it actually is.

But hey we went 1-2 in Maui and have won all the other games in our Top 10 easiest schedule in the country per ESPN, Final Four bound bitches!11!1 Best team since Nolan!

Sheesh.

I understand your cautionary approach but I believe what I said. As fans of the hogs we've been beaten and battered lately so I don't take getting my hopes up lightly right now. Who knows how the season will go- if recent luck is any indicator the whole team may come down with some unknown disease and we'll have to forfeit the remainder of the season. But do we have the capability to do really good things? I say frick yes.

I hope us sunshine pumpers are right. The glory days of hog (or well Nolan specific for my experience) basketball were fun times. The Bud used to be packed every game and as loud as you could imagine. I hope we all get to experience that atmosphere again.

We made the 2nd round of the NCAAT since then, you're ready to appoint this team as a 2nd round NCAAT team?

I said we were the best team since Nolan arrived.

Ready to see you meltdown...

You don't need to tell me, I grew up in The Bud, this is my sport, even over football.

Still think it's foolish to be crowning this team anything other than NIT bound until they win some road games. In reality so far we've beaten one good team, and a bunch of cupcakes in what was ranked by ESPN a top 10 cupcake schedule.

I'll be happy if we beat A&M on the road to open SEC play and then split between Kentucky/UF while playing close and losing late in whichever one of those two beats us as I don't think we sweep UK/UF back to back games in 3 days.

Those so close together make me nervous too- that could make or break the season almost.

I think beating UF would be more beneficial than UK, as I think UF is the better team, certainly right now at least.

Everyone keeps saying UK will be dominant come years end, which they may, but I have my doubts that UK is ever going to meet the hype this year.

UF will be the more quality win for the resume/RPI IMO.

If we could start 3-0, I'd be sold and purchasing my final four ticket package as well.

Oh a different note, there could be as many as 9 players on the honor roll this semester.

I'm with you, cautiously optimistic, but man I yearn for the glory days of Sutton and Richardson. Days when our fans were truly excited about basketball and having success in the NCAA tournament. Winning on the road would be a good start and the same holds true for our football team.

They had some good runs tonight and clearly have talented players. We'll just have to wait and see how well they gel as the season rolls along.

My observations from the games I have seen we have a tendency to rush outside shots and trouble moving the ball inside. My observations may be incorrect though as I am not very knowledgeable about basketball. If I am correct I would think those things could be a problem for us against better competition.

Regardless if we make it this year or not, im just excited about the improvement we've made and the possibilities for next year. Madden, Bell, Qualls, Harris, Portis and Kingsley all back plus Beard replacing Gulley and Babb replacing Haydar. Could be pretty potent.

It's nice to have hope again for basketball
