Does this include basketball as well?

It certainly should include AD.
Yurachek isn't being talked about with every sport underperforming in the NIL era.
If baseball and softball go off the rails in a month or two HY has to be gone.
Terrible leadership and approach to the NIL era.

Completely agree... Whether pittman gets gone, or anyone else. Get Hy Outta Here...

If we could chisel him out of the Big Sky country and pair him up with some Southern recruiters I'd roll the dice on Brent Vigen in a heart beat.
What we will do instead is hire either a washed up coach or fail to sign our first 12 choices and panic settle for a local Jr. High coach who is married to the daughter of one of the board of directors.

This was the guy that I wanted Bielema to hire as our OC many years ago. Thought he would have paired up perfect with what we wanted to do.

I remember those discussions. Ah, the good ole years where we weren't benumbed to our fate.

Let’s face it, it’s going to be BLJ or Rhett.

Rhett isn't leaving the gravy train he has at SMU.
They have a shite ton of nil money and an easier schedule by far.

Considering the money they are throwing around none of us would walk away from that job.

Is that why they're 31st in recruiting and 36th transfer portal behind the likes of Duke and Kansas and Arkansas? Just so much NIL money

Rhett will go to a bigger job than Arkansas. We're like SMU that even with success no one really wants to go there over other prominent schools.

He definitely does more with less. At least they made the playoffs while Arkansas will never sniff one.

And yet they're still out recruited by Arkansas in the HS and transfer ranks coming off a playoff appearance. And by Duke and Kansas.
So much NIL money!

So much money... means a good deal of that money sticks to the coach. They're paying the guy top dollar there. Plus, it is SMU. Frankly, them recruiting that well is remarkable. They seem thrilled which means next year they'll probably offer the same NIL or even larger. Sooner or later that is likely to quite literally pay off.
Meanwhile he made it to the playoffs. This may shock you, but Arkansas didn't. Yes. They played in the Big 12. We lost to one of the worst Big 12 teams this year and got by a badly depleted Texas Tech. We aren't pissing on SMU from great heights right now.
Unless we commit to spending a lot more on NIL he'd be a fool to come here. The gravy train is rolling through SMU right now, why go somewhere else unless they offer stupid amounts of money?

correct me, If I am wrong.. But...
SEC>Big12 which has several, in history, >SMU...
He is paid well, but if he continues to succeed on a high level, he will be at a larger program one day. Perhaps an Auburn/TN, etc.
If their NIL is so great, why is their recruiting rankings so daggum low as well? Have to pay lower rated cruits much more to come to SMU?
I am just not buying all of the SMU apologetics in its current form

SMU isn't a better job because they have more. SMU is a better job because you can get away with having less with the expanded playoff. A weaker SoS is now a boon instead of a hindrance to postseason success in the world of auto bids. They have enough to beat who they have to beat. We do not.
You pointed out their 31st ranked recruiting class, which is accurate. You also pointed out that they were ranked lower than us. Also accurate. What you did not point out was that their recruiting class ranks 5th within their conference, while our recruiting class puts us at 14th in ours. That's what matters more than anything.
